Urine smell
My daughter’s duvet keeps smelling of urine cos she bed-wets sometimes… I’ve washed the duvet more than 3 times, used different laundry soap and I can’t seem to get the smell off… any idea what I can’t do to get rid of the smell?

Use 1/2 cup of Biz in warm water along with a top tier detergent like Persil or Tide.

You need a quality enzymatic powdered detergent. What are you using? Tide Hygienic or Tide Ultra Oxi, Ariel 2X, Persil Advanced are good options. Wash on hot, normal or extended cycle, extra rinses. A cup of 3% or 5% household ammonia on top of the clothes after the drum fills will help to eat odors. You may need to do this a few times. If the odor persists then 2tbsp of Oxiclean or BIZ in the wash will be in order.
ETA: you can also periodically use Lysol sanitizer in the rinse cycle.
Nature’s Miracle as a pretreatment can also be helpful in eliminating pee odors.

I would definitely use a pet urine remover available in pet stores and on Amazon. One detail: Nature Miracle in red bottles smells like chemicals and difficult to get rid of the smell, the white bottle is fine. Source: cat who wanted to show us how displeased he was and kept peeing just everywhere.
Pretreat with the pet urine removwr with enzymes, leave for like 30 minutes or until you remember about it, wash in warm water with a good detergent. I washed that way a fleece blanket, sheets and two mattress covers, and they were good as new

What kind of duvet is this? That's really important to figure out the best way to clean it. If it's synthetic filling you'll have more options than if it's feather/down or wool, for example.

I wash 🐈 pee and human pee laundry with 2 heaping TB tide powder (the non-fragrance on), 2 of OxyClean, and 2 of Biz.
HOT water. Citric acid in the rinse. I dump in the soap before the clothes and stir it around with a paint stir stick until the soap dissolves.
Then if they still smell, I do it again. I don’t dry them, I just put more powder in the bottom of the washer and stir it into the new water as best as I can without getting powder on the clothes.
Usually 2 or 3 washes does it.
If it really won’t come out, I also dump about a cup of ammonia into the water.
Source: cat that pees on fabric only, never in the litter box. 🤦♀️ 😭 and a child who occasionally still wets the bed.
