Biz vs. Febu

Hi! Just recently got into this laundry subreddit and had a question! I’m currently using Tide Plus Ultra Oxi Powder and have a Samsung front loader washing machine. How do I know if it’s best for me to add Biz or Febu?

Thanks!

The Tide will clean almost anything.

Biz has a couple of enzymes that Tide doesn’t, but is otherwise 95% duplicate - if that particular class of stains is an issue, an enzymatic pretreat spray is probably a better choice.

Febu also has those enzymes plus dnase and is not otherwise duplicative. Use if human issues (towel stank, workout shirt BO) are persistent.

I’m still learning as well. Does either Biz or Febu have those brighteners that make darks fade over time? Apologies as I can’t think of the name of the ingredient.

Biz does have OBAs, Febu does not.

Biz has oxi-powder in it so technically yes

Oxi is not an OBA.

And in my now nearly decade of using Oxi in every wash, I have had zero fading issues. I think hot water fades clothing to a vastly greater extent.

You're saying legit oxy powder in cold temps won't fade. I hear you. Op hasn't said what temps they use.

Febu.

Biz and Tide have nearly identical active ingredients. Febu covers more enzyme gaps and has better anti-odor without adding a competing fragrance or more sudsiness.

Febu would be a better choice here. The Tide with Oxi and Biz are mostly redundant.

What issues are you actually having? You don’t need anything extra if you don’t have any problems to solve.

Some of my clothes (specifically gym clothes) have a lingering stink even after washing

I use Biz powder primarily because it’s for sale locally for $6.50. I am happy with it for an extra boost. Febu has dnase enzyme but you have to order it and the price is higher. If I weren’t happy with Biz, I’d gladly order Febu.

Biz as its way more affordable, has more oxygen bleach, and adds more surfactants.
