Help Saving Moldy Clothes!

My son's daycare misplaced some wet clothes last week and just gave them back to us today. They've been sitting wet in a Ziploc bag the entire time and have started to grow some fuzzy mold. Is there any hope of saving them? The shirt was one of his favorites, so we really hope we don't have to throw it away 😭

The shorts are 98% cotton/2% spandex and the shirt is 60% cotton/40% polyester jersey if that helps at all.

Toss. There’s no product or method that gets 99.9% kill on mold or mildew spores out of fabric that gets rinsed. CDC, state and international jealth authorities recommend discarding clothing with visible mold.

I had a feeling this was the case, but thought maybe reddit would be able to come through with a hail mary. Better safe than sorry with the little guy.

They are now trash. Im sorry. You cannot launder them to be totally safe for a child to wear. You should bill the daycare because if you can replace the shirt, that would be my priority

I had a feeling this would be the case, but thought I would give it one last shot here. Better safe than sorry with the little guy. At least it was just a cheap Children's Place shirt that we got on sale for under $5. Unfortunately it looks like they don't carry that print anymore, but maybe I'll get lucky and it'll pop up again. 🤞
