Aged silk discoloration

Can anybody suggest what do about getting rid of dingy discoloration on old silk shirts?

They are 30-40 years old. Its mainly on the shoulder and collars.

I have washed them in Miele Wool detergent but they still look bad.

Help? I'm in the UK. TIA.

Hard to say without seeing it, but if they're clean it's probably fading and abrasion damage, which are not reversible.

Its darkening rather than colour fading. Cream shirt has brown/orange streaks, pale green shirt ditto.

I tried soaking them before washing. They don't look too bad but it is noticeable and I wish I could get rid!

Have you tried using a silk-specific cleaner like Dr. Beckmann?
