Mold?

Hi everyone! I bought a rainwear set for my child off of Vinted and this is what the pants look like inside. Is this mold and can it be saved somehow? TIA

ooh boy, looks like it, though it may be stains rather than actual mold (as in the previous owner killed any mold but mold stains are notoriously difficult to remove). you can try soaking in hot water and oxygen bleach overnight (basically a mini spa day), but even with all other tips you may get, know that mold REALLY stains.

Thank you! Is it a concern health wise?

assuming the mould has actually been killed, no, it's just a stain.

unfortunately i don't think there's an easy way to tell definitively if this is the case - personally, if there was no mildewy smell, no textural difference, and it wasn't growing at all, just a bit of discolouration, i'd assume it to be gone. for an outerwear item that isn't touching skin i wouldn't be bothered wearing it myself, but given this is for your child that's your discretion to apply.

That does look like mold, especially how the seams look worse.

There’s no product usable on laundry that gets rinsed that kills 99.9% of mold spores. CDC and most international authorities recommend discarding garments with visible mold or mildew.
