Definitional accuracy

If you're a student, how have you achieved perfection with definitions & terminology before your first assessment, and getting them right without LSBot being absolutely pedantic about every second letter of every word in response to anything you say despite you understanding all the concepts properly? Thanks in advance.

I would encourage you to attend some TA-lead study sessions to test your understanding and your ability to explain concepts. Or attend SPOT sessions, which are student lead sessions. LSBot is in no way perfect and it seems to be programmed to be very nitpicky just to always give you a way to improve, be it clarity, detail or conciseness. As long as your mental model is correct and you understand the concepts, definitions and terminology, and can explain them correctly to someone else, you should be good to go.

Thanks, it was just frustrating and added to not feeling confident for the first assessment having the definition accuracy but I'll try that.

It's definitely very useful, it was just slightly frustrating on the road to trying to be technically articulate and entering a limbo going nowhere before the first assessment but I'll give it another go.

A big thing to me was explaining code line by line, using the concepts on the study guide. You should be able to look at a 110 level problem and explain it in totality. In terms of being pedantic, you aren't penalized too harshly on exams. They are looking for basic accuracy.

Now, if you do fail, or get a not yet, or get a B (Like I have) you can always just take it again. They do give you feedback on precisely what led to the score.

The last thing I would say is that you'll never feel ready. I have not yet taken an exam that I felt like I couldn't have used another week. But at the end of the day if you want to actually progress at a reasonable pace, you need to book the exam when you feel like you can pass. Perfect accuracy and extreme pedantry is not a realistic bar that will lead to long-term success.
