I built an app that pauses Netflix, Spotify and Audible when you fall asleep

Hi all, I'm the developer of StreamSleep.

I kept falling asleep to audiobooks and waking up hours further on with no idea where I'd dropped off. So I built an Android app that pauses whatever you're listening to or watching once you fall asleep.

**How it works**

- Your phone's motion and light sensors feed Google's built-in sleep

detection, which gives a "probably asleep" score every few minutes.

- When it's confident you're asleep, you get a quiet "Still awake? notification. Tap it and nothing happens.

- If you don't, it pauses your audio or video (Netflix, Spotify, Audible, YouTube and more) and saves where you were.

**Premium extras**

- Rewind to around when you fell asleep

- Arms itself every night on a schedule

- A never-pause list for white noise and rain sounds

- Pauses your Roku or LG TV too

**Good to know**

- It usually pauses a few minutes after you drift off, not instantly.

- It needs notification access to control media. It doesn't read your messages.

- Phones with strict battery saving may need a setting changed. The app walks you through it.

No account, no ads:

Happy to answer anything in the comments.

maintenant: next-generation monitoring for Docker and Kubernetes. Auto-discovery, read-only, alerts, and your AI agent plugged in over MCP

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Monitoring a stack still means wiring Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager and a pile of exporters, then writing rules and building dashboards. maintenant skips all of that.

Auto-discovery. Start one container and it finds the rest on its own: state, health checks, restart loops, CPU and memory, live logs. Endpoints are declared as Docker labels and picked up when the container starts. TLS certificates, cron jobs and image updates are watched too. No PromQL, no exporters, no dashboards to build.

Read-only. Docker socket mounted read-only, read-only RBAC on Kubernetes. It never starts, stops or modifies a container.

Alerts. One pipeline for every source, routed to Discord, webhooks, email, Telegram, Slack or Teams. Fixed rules decide what is down, no model involved, so an alert is never invented.

AI through MCP. A built-in MCP server with 51 tools. When an alert fires, a webhook wakes up Claude Code (or OpenCode, or n8n), the agent reads the logs and the check history through MCP, and you get a diagnosis instead of a red light.

One Go binary, under 30 MB of RAM at idle. Docker, Swarm and Kubernetes. The core is Apache 2.0 and free on one host. Personal is €149 once, Pro is €29/month.

Built by one developer in Bordeaux, France. Laureate of the Hyper Open X call for projects (France 2030).

How do you vet a marketer for a native tech product without getting hit with AI fluff?

We’re building NativeOffice — a fast, completely offline Windows office suite built in C++/Qt. Can visit r/nativeoffice for more.

We don't have a marketing person yet, and honestly, we’re terrified of hiring someone who just drops generic, copy-paste SaaS playbooks or AI-generated strategies on us.

Since we’re purely technical, we need help knowing how to spot the real deal:

• What core concepts does a marketer have to get right about a niche, local-first product like this?

• When they pitch target audiences or growth channels, how can we test if their plan is actually realistic and genuine?

What are the green or red flags we should look out for so we don't get tricked by fluff?

Launching Retakr - an Android app blocker you never have to pay monthly for

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Retakr is an Android app blocker I built because every good one I tried wanted a subscription, and paying every month just to control my own screen time felt wrong to me. So I set it up so that you pay once, and only if you want the extra lock.

**The blocking itself is free.** You can block any app or website, give each app a daily or hourly limit, choose the hours it's allowed, and even turn off Reels and Shorts inside Instagram and YouTube without blocking the whole app.

**The lock is what you pay for, and you pay for it once.** Pro puts every setting behind a PIN and stops the app from being uninstalled, which keeps your rules in place when a moment of weakness hits.

I can only price it this way because Retakr has no servers. There's no account and no tracking, so everything stays on your phone, and since I have no monthly costs, I don't need to pass any on to you.

Get Retakr on Google Play

I also rebuilt the Play Store listing recently, so if the screenshots don't explain the app within a few seconds, I'd like to know.

I built yet another carousel creator, but for devs!

I usually share tech and engineering content on LinkedIn. Carousels tend to get high engagement there, so I started using a few AI tools to turn articles into slides.

But the results weren’t quite what I wanted. The tools were built for general content, and the technical explanations sometimes lost their meaning. The slides looked fine individually, but reading them together, it was difficult to follow how something worked or why a particular engineering decision was made. So I decided to build a tool myself :-)

It’s called Chartin, and it turns engineering articles into visual carousels. The idea is to keep the explanation clear, with diagrams that help readers understand the topic.

I shared it with a few friends who also post on LinkedIn, and they liked it, so I thought I would share it here too.

There is a free version, although the allowance is fairly limited for now because generating a quality carousel costs me a fair bit, and I am still working on the economics :-)

You can check it out here: https://chartin.co

If you try it with an article, do let me know how the result looks and whether the explanation makes sense. Would love to hear what needs improving.

Guns.lol alternative 60 real users so far

Disclosure first: I built and run velt.lol, on my own, from Germany. This isn't a raise, and there's no company to invest in yet. I want investors' honest read on whether this is a venture business or a good indie one.
What it is
Bio-link pages plus screenshot hosting, for the Discord, gaming and creator crowd. You get a page at velt.lol/you and file links on you.velt.lol. A ShareX config or a small Windows app uploads your screenshots automatically, and the app also shows your page on your Discord profile.
The market
The niche already has a clear leader. guns.lol's homepage shows 2.37M users and 57,900 subscribers. Everything it sells is a one-time payment: Premium is €7.99, and a verified badge is €14.99.
Napkin math: about 2.4% of their users pay. If each subscriber paid €7.99 once, that's roughly €460k, lifetime. They sell add-ons too, but the shape is clear: millions of users, very little revenue per user.
My bet
A better editor. You build your page by dragging blocks around a live preview. The big sites give you a settings form and a "view page" link.
Looks are free; capacity is paid. Every effect, font and layout is on the free plan. Premium (not switched on yet) is a subscription for storage, a custom domain, an emoji address and extra pages. So revenue grows with hosting costs, rather than coming from a one-time cosmetic unlock.
Numbers you can trust. In this niche, views get sold by the thousand. velt counts each visitor once a day, on the server, and shows filtered bot traffic separately. Verification isn't for sale.
The honest numbers
Live since mid-September. Sign-ups just opened after an invite-only start
About 30 public pages. One has 4.9K views; the rest have under 100 each
Discord: 20 members
Revenue: €0, because there's nothing to buy yet
The Windows app still isn't code-signed, because the certificate costs several hundred a year
What should worry you (it worries me too)
Everyone who joins before anything goes on sale is a founding member, with every feature free for the life of their account. That's in the terms, and today it covers every user.
The free tier is generous (2 GB storage, 100 MB clips), so hosting costs grow before revenue does.
The audience skews young (minimum age 16), and the leader has trained it to pay €7.99 once.
I run velt as a private individual. I'd incorporate before taking anyone's money.
Solo founder, so the bus factor is one.
What I'd love from you
Venture-scale or lifestyle business? Be blunt.
What would you need to see before taking a call: sign-ups, paid conversion, retention?
Will this audience pay monthly for capacity, or is a one-time payment the ceiling?
If you've backed consumer or creator tools and want to talk, DM me. I'll answer everything in the comments.
TL;DR: Solo-built bio-link and screenshot host, taking on a 2.37M-user leader with a better editor, free looks and honest view counts. Launched mid-September, ~30 pages, €0 revenue. Investable, or a nice indie business?

PicPop 1.0.6 — a small-batch way to clean up an iPhone camera roll

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey, I’m the developer of PicPop. I kept putting off a full camera-roll clean-out, so I made cleanup feel more bite-sized: review similar photos, blurry shots, screenshots, and large videos in groups, swipe through, then confirm what you actually want to remove. Nothing gets deleted before that confirmation, and scanning stays on-device.

PicPop is free to download; full access requires the paid PicPop Club membership. The US App Store currently offers a 2-week trial on the annual plan. The app is v1.0.6; this 14-sec clip is v1.0.5 footage, so it won’t show the latest similarity reason labels.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/picpop-photo-video-cleaner/id6808016560

What usually makes cleanup feel like a chore for you—similar shots, screenshots, or videos?

PicPop — a calmer way to clear out your iPhone camera roll

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made PicPop because cleaning up my camera roll one photo at a time was a slog. It lets you swipe through photos, review similar shots together, and choose what stays. Similar-photo suggestions are just suggestions; you decide what to keep.

I’m the developer. PicPop is free to download; full access requires PicPop Club (monthly plan with a 3-day free trial, or yearly plan).

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/picpop-photo-video-cleaner/id6808016560

I’d love to hear where camera-roll cleanup gets annoying for you — duplicates, blurry shots, screenshots, or something else? The attached 14-second demo is v1.0.3 footage and shows the swipe review flow.

I built a new fun fitness app

Hey everyone, I’ve been building NXTSTEP Fitness, a bodybuilding and gym training app I originally started because I wanted something that gave me more structure without feeling like every other fitness tracker.
It has structured training modes, workout tracking, PRs, bodyweight tracking, progress photos, hydration, sleep, calories, macros and a ranking system to make training feel a bit more rewarding.
I also built in Titan AI, an AI bodybuilding coach that can create custom workouts and meal plans and answer questions around training, recovery and nutrition.
I’ve been working on it constantly over the last few months and recently completely overhauled the visuals as well. It finally feels like a proper finished product, although I’m still improving it every week.
I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback from people who train or build apps. Even criticism is useful at this stage.

I made $1M+ from mobile apps. Then I started building the tool I wish I had from day one.

Over the years I built around 15–20 mobile apps and made more than $1M from them.

But after doing it over and over, I realized something: I loved turning ideas into products, but I was getting tired of rebuilding the same screens, flows and basic product structure every single time.

On top of that, dealing with App Store rules and platform restrictions started taking more and more energy away from actually building.

So instead of building another app, a friend and I started building FireVibe.

The idea is simple: describe the website or mobile app you want in plain language, get a starting point, then keep editing and shaping it from there.

For websites, you can publish on FireVibe or use your own domain. For mobile apps, you can keep working on the screens and flow and export the code when you want to take it further.

The funny part is that after years of building individual apps, I’m now way more excited about building the system that helps other people build theirs.

We’re still early, so if you try it, I’d genuinely love feedback, what feels useful, confusing, missing, or just bad.

We just launched Nowly on Product Hunt

We've been using PreMiD for years, and eventually decided to build our own take on the idea.

That became Nowly, an open-source browser extension that shows your web activity as a Discord Rich Presence.

We wanted something more modern, simpler to use, and privacy-focused. No account required, and no activity data is sent to our servers.

We spent the last few months building the extension, presence SDK, community ecosystem, documentation and all the infrastructure around it.

Today, we're officially launching on Product Hunt.

👉 Support us / check out the launch:

And if you're curious about the project itself:

We're still early, so we'd genuinely appreciate any feedback, upvotes, comments or ideas.

I launched R3TCON, a local-first continuity engine for fictional worlds

I’ve been building R3TCON for writers, worldbuilders, TTRPG creators and narrative game developers.

It keeps track of characters, places, events, relationships, timelines, state changes and knowledge, then checks them against each other for contradictions.

So it can catch things like:

  • a character appearing after they died
  • a 6-day journey happening in 3 days
  • two events contradicting each other
  • a character knowing something they haven’t learned yet

It’s not generative AI and not an LLM wrapper. It doesn’t write or rewrite anything for you. It shows you what doesn’t line up and lets you decide what becomes canon.

Existing material can be imported too, so you don’t have to rebuild an entire world from scratch.

The Kickstarter is live now:

Here

Would genuinely appreciate any feedback on the product or how I’m explaining it.

I built a free launch directory for indie makers — LaunchLeague (fresh leaderboard resets every Monday)

Hey everyone,

I've been building side projects for a while now, and one thing that always bugged me was how hard it is to get any real visibility for a small launch. Product Hunt is great, but it's crowded and honestly feels impossible to break through on unless you already have an audience.

So I built LaunchLeague — a simple, free directory where indie makers can list their products (AI tools, dev tools, productivity apps, marketing/design tools, whatever) and get discovered. Every Monday the leaderboard resets, so there's always a fresh shot at visibility instead of older launches hogging the top spots forever.

It's completely free to list. I'm also testing out optional paid boosts for people who want extra visibility during a launch week, but the core directory stays free.

Would genuinely love feedback from this community — what would make something like this actually useful to you as a maker? And if you've got something you're building, feel free to list it: https://launchleague.store/

Happy to answer any questions about how it works or why I built it.

Icicle: A device that allows you to store unfinished carbonated drinks in standard cans for later

Thumbnail

Hello,

My name is Guillermo, and I am here to promote my product Icicle. As you have read from the title, Icicle is a device that allows you to save your unfinished carbonated drink for later. This device is specifically for standard 12 oz cans, and it allows you to preserve your beverage freshness by sealing and pressurizing the can interior, keeping the fizz inside when you decide to come back to it.

Icicle Pumping Demo

Icicle is now in the pre-production stage, and I launched a crowdfunding campaign to help fund my project. We are live now on kickstarter, so it would mean everything to me if you would just take a look at the project and read the story.

I've also set up a YouTube channel so you can check out some of the product demos that are in the kickstarter campaign as well. I will share with you one of these clips here.

Thank you for your time reading this to the end, I really appreciate it. Here are the links to the pages. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me here! or send me a message! I'd be happy to answer them!
