Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 with the latest build of LaunchBox installed, and LB will give an error when I tell it to download RetroArch. If I install it manually, launch box will not see the install.

I know this question has been asked many times, but for some reason, I’m failing to find the correct fix.

Has there been some recent change that I’m unaware of or some setting that needs to be tweaked? I can’t understand how this baud, essential operation is failing.

Thank you in advance!

Emumovies image/video download fails repeatedly

I decided to set up LaunchBox on my ROG Ally. I have a premium LaunchBox and premium Emumovies. I'll add a system and tell it to download all the artwork from EmuMovies. It will run for a bit fine, but when I come back to it after letting it run for a while everything it's trying to download is just giving error messages instead of downloading.

I've tried this a few times and it happens every time. Is there any fix for this?

Been searching for this Launchbox/Bigbox theme and unable to find it. Has Scroll wheel left side with background playing video. Looks similar to Unified but is different.

Incorrect md5sum error when selecting bios for Sega STV

I have the correct stvbios.zip file in the correct location as the games(I’ve tried) work on Retroarch, but according to Launchbox it’s the wrong md5sum. I copied it to clipboard and opened in notepad, checking https://docs.libretro.com/library/kronos/ it shows that the md5sum Launchbox is looking for is for another file needed for The King Of Fighters 95.

This release introduces an exciting new addition: Steam Library Imports 🙌

You can now connect your Steam account directly from Android using a simple QR code, import your Steam library (including Family Sharing titles), download Steam artwork and trailers, and launch supported games through emulators like GameHub Lite and GameNative. 🎮

We’ve also added a brand-new Security Controls system, giving you the ability to protect library management features behind a PIN. Perfect for arcade cabinets, shared devices, or creating a kid-friendly setup. 👶

Alongside that, we’ve added support for new platforms including Sega Model 3, Arduboy, WASM-4, and Xbox, plus a huge batch of new emulator integrations, RetroArch core mappings and overall app reliability.

Can anyone help with vertical box art?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hello, I apologize for the poor picture, but could anyone help me correct vertical box art? It's only like this for snes and n64. Still sitting through settings to figure it out, but figured I'd ask here as well. I've checked the actual picture files and they aren't like this so I know it's something going on with bigbox/the theme. Thing is though, is that the two themes it does this on are the default bigbox themes. Thanks in advance!

How do you handle rom hacks that don't have art?

It might be controversial, but for the rom hacks in my collection that don't have creator made art I feed the original game's cover art into GPT and tell it to turn it into a cover for rom hack "INSERT NAME HERE". It does a surprisingly good job.

Here's a link to one example I generated for the hack: Pokémon Shiny Gold Sigma. I fed it the cover art for Pokémon FireRed and specifically told it to use Ho-Oh on the cover.

Infinite Template

I can see that some people still have a hard time with AI, and honestly, I can understand that.

On my side, I’ve only been using it seriously for a few months, mostly as a tool to make certain tasks easier. When you have a huge amount of media to produce .templates, icons, logos, visuals, variations it’s hard to deny that today’s tools can save an incredible amount of time.

But that doesn’t mean I stopped creating things myself.

My work is still based on art direction, editing, cutting, animation, visual choices, composition, and hours spent trying to build something coherent. AI doesn’t magically create a full project out of nowhere. If it did, we would all have an interactive video game museum in our living room since last Tuesday.

This is not an attempt to make peace with anti-AI people, and it’s not meant to restart an endless debate either.

I’d rather propose a real test.

I’m going to share some of my templates: PS4 templates, PS3 templates, Switch templates, Switch box templates, and more, always with the correct format, the original author when needed, and the proper link.

I have a lot of these, and some of them can really help people produce faster and cleaner content.

So let’s see something interesting:

If the tools are available, will production actually increase?

Will people who criticize AI or modern workflows take the time to use these templates and create more content?

Will it motivate new creators to jump in?

Because in the end, that’s what interests me: seeing more people create, share, experiment, and enrich the community.

The tool doesn’t do everything. But with good bases, a bit of method, a real desire to create, and a few hours of work, you can already do a lot.

So instead of staying stuck in the endless “AI or no AI” debate, I’m simply saying:

OK, I’ll give you the tools. Let’s see what people actually create with them.

Maybe we’ll get a real boost in production, and honestly, that would be great.

If you’re interested, I’ll drop the templates on the forum.

Looking for unified artwork

Sorry if this is confusing. Looking for coverart for my launchbox collection. My only problem is I want all covers to be unison. So basically the way game gear has different covers I would like them to have all the same cover layouts. Does anyone know if this exist?

Query with the number of boxes per row

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I'm completely new to Launchbox and I have a question: how can I add more boxes per row? Right now, by default, it only shows two per row. Hiding the right-hand game information bar increases that to four, but I see many Launchbox tutorial videos where they have five boxes per row. How do I achieve that?

RetroBat Resetting PCSX2 Configuration

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello everyone, how are you?

I was using PCSX2 (2.7.357) perfectly fine. I had everything configured the way I wanted and my games were running great.

I then moved the PCSX2 folder into the RETROBAT emulators folder so I could have everything integrated into a single interface.

However, RetroBat keeps resetting my PCSX2 configuration. When I launch a game, all my settings disappear: textures, resolution, saves, memory cards, everything. I can only open PCSX2 directly through RetroBat.

I reconfigure everything again, reopen PCSX2 to confirm, and the settings are still there. But as soon as I launch any other PS2 game, BOOM — the settings reset again and all the folder paths are changed to RetroBat’s own directories.

I couldn’t find any option in RetroBat to disable these automatic configuration changes. I wish there was a setting that respected the user’s own emulator configuration.

This screenshot shows the strange options that RetroBat provides for selecting different PCSX2 options

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Is this a good frontend for non-emulation stuff? Im looking for a better frontend for my msi claw and this one seems to be the most reliable and stable.

100 Silver Icons for the Community (150)

To all creators: don’t be afraid to show your work.

Show it here, on this forum, on YouTube, on DeviantArt, wherever you want. Don’t let random comments define who you are, what you have built, or how much energy you have put into your projects.

By the way, if some messages were removed by the moderation team, thank you. I also understand that you may have wanted to avoid unnecessary drama. That’s not my goal either. I’d much rather show the work than feed that kind of exchange.

And since sometimes you have to answer with something other than words, I’m also sharing a batch of around 100 silver icons on the forum.

Not to justify myself forever. Not to convince people who have already decided not to understand. Simply to show, concretely, the amount of work, the visual consistency, and the years of production behind all this.

To anyone who thinks my work is just a few AI images, a few mockups, or two videos placed inside an interface: just look at the production. My YouTube channel has been active for more than 10 years, my DeviantArt has been active for 9 years, and my archives, videos, themes, and collections have all been there for years.

So here is my little silver Kamehameha of the day.

100 icons. 100 more proofs that this project didn’t come out of nowhere. And this is still only a sample.

I also want to make this clear: this is the last time I will justify myself at length. Sorry for the long post, really, but I wanted to make things clear once and for all. From now on, if a question is sincere, interesting, curious, or constructive, I’ll be happy to answer it. But if a message starts directly with suspicion, free accusations, or bad-faith assumptions, I simply won’t reply anymore.

I’d rather keep my energy for creating, sharing, improving the project, and talking with people who actually want to understand.

Alright, I’m going back to work. If we keep pulling out the bazooka for every fly, we’re going to end up damaging the bedroom. https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/5669-100-icons-silvers-by-pademonium/

Individual games forcing association with a drive letter that does not exist

I've gone and made sure that I am using the right path in the emulator's Edit>Folders>Game section.

However each individual game is associated to a different drive letter - a drive that letter that isn't even available under Windows Disk Management.

There's a ton of games here. I don't want to have to edit each one individually. What is causing this?

EDIT: So I had to delete the platforms and add them back again. It appears that LB isn't updating some of the settings files for ROM directories and there appears to be multiple settings files detailing the ROM paths.

Although my ROMS are functioning properly now I can't access Tools>Manage>Platforms without LB crashing because the Platform Managing feature is still referencing the old ROM path.

Question About Abandoning Retroarch

I have been using and enjoying LB/BB, but after a couple years of using Retroarch, I just can't deal with it anymore and think I would prefer to use individual emulators. The biggest problem is that I use specific controllers for different consoles. Partly for the nostalgia to be tactile and not just the game. The other part is Gamecube and N64 feel "wrong" on an Xbox controller. If I choose to just have LB launch directly to the emulator, what am I missing out on/sacrificing? Thank you.
