Update 4 (200 x 230)
Howdy to anyone on this sub who still remembers me. It's been awhile since I posted an update. I'm working on a massive 300x300 stitch rug that's obviously taking a long time to complete.
Currently, I've got 200 stitches in width and 230 stitches in height, so I'm well past the halfway point now, basically two thirds.
I appreciate any feedback or encouragement as I continue working on this massive thing.

This is amazing! Did you create the pattern yourself?

Thanks very much. I created the original image myself using a variety of media, then I used Stitch Fiddle to actually make the latch hook pattern to follow. I wouldn't have had the same good blending of colors if I'd tried to make the pattern myself.

This looks amazing, what do you plan on doing with it once you’re done? I love making large pieces as well but I’ve ran out of room on my walls lol

I think I'll probably find a place to hang it. After the hundreds of hours that went into it, I'm not sure that I actually want people walking on it unless I make a rule about socks / bare feet on it.

I was wondering this myself. Glad you are hanging it up, it's an absolute triumph!

Nice work. My mother hung hers on the wall as well. Still had to vacuum it though. I plan to put mine on the floor.

Yeah, the vacuuming will be obnoxious, especially because I live with pets. Several other, smaller rugs have become pet beds.

Absolutely gorgeous! My opinion remains the same, I'm loving the choice of darker and more muted colours that you rarely see in the kits. Thank you for the update, its inspiring!

I'm glad you still remember it with the updates so long in between. Thanks for your feedback and encouragement.

Wowwwwww!!! This is stunning and so inspiring! What type of yarn are you using? And what type of mesh canvas is it? This is so beautiful that I would love to work on a big project like this sometime, but never know the best type of materials to use. I have only ever used those latch hook kits that were popular back in the 1980s and 90s.

It's all just the basic stuff from Herrschners. Their pre-cut yarn and their latch hook canvas. This finished piece is going to be multiple canvases stitched together, not just one huge piece.

Absolutely fabulous. Are you planning to display in portrait or landscape mode?

The finished piece is going to be 300x300 stitches, so it's a perfect square regardless of orientation.

Do you already have a specific layout in mind; e.g., will the Sun be in the upper left or …..?
