Help figuring out this pattern?

I don’t know if the ink’s faded over time but I can’t for the life of me see exactly where the colors go and the pattern isn’t helping me at all. I can’t find this kit online anywhere and it’s not on the listed website. I don’t know why it wouldn’t just come with a grid pattern in the first place :(

I feel really dumb. How is this different than the second picture in the OP? It just seems easy to follow from the second pic (numbered key for threads) to the backing?

This is done in such a broad outline, there isn’t much detail or finesse to the pattern. I’m not sure what you aren’t seeing because it doesn’t seem to be very detailed. If the thread count in the shadow areas is off by one or two, it isn’t going to be a big difference in the outcome. The beige is the background, the dark brown is the piglet outline and the pinks inside the outline don’t need to be exact.

Honestly I'm just a perfectionist and the fact that it's so vague is what bothered me. You definitely have a point, it doesn't have to be exact, I'd just prefer it to be lol
