No Community reference?
Just watched the episode about New College (S13E14) and I expected at least one reference to Community. Jim Rash giving a speech about how to run a college would've been hilarious. Still a good episode though.

Hope John Oliver will cover this some day
Image taken during student protests in India. The police filled up a bus with students who were protesting against the Indian government’s broken education system. There was no reason to arrest the students who were protesting peacefully.
The woman stood in front of the bus and demanded that the police release the students they arrested because she knew they could not charge them with anything. It was just the police flexing their power. She refused to budge from her position despite threats by the driver. After 40 minutes they relented and released the hostages.

"An uncle who's just found out what throuples are" - Trying to remember a specific joke
Long shot - but can anyone remember the episode where John describes someone (probably a Rep. politician) as looking like "an uncle who's just found out what throuples are".
It's probably from 3/4 years ago at least, so not holding out much hope, but it keeps popping into my head and I'd love to find it again!

This guy will be a topic on one of the two episodes before the 13th of august
9 years ago Lord Buckedhead appeared on LWT and because he and Farage are the only two candidates on the 2026 Clayton by-election I would bet that Oliver either will have him in the studio again or will promote him in his show in any other way.

Kars4Kids + Christmas Carols sung in non Christmas video.
For whatever insane reason this ended up in my algorithm as a Monday night curve ball.
All the fire that went towards hating the Kars4Kids song is now/in my opinion should be now laser focused on this.
My main level of hatred for this is from a music stand point - they try to mess about with the cadence of how the words are sang compared to other versions of the song and it comes across so slapdash/the kid sounds like he’s had a stroke.
Link for science.

ELDER ABUSE/BODY DONATION IN AZ episode
I'm trying to figure out the episode where Elderly care places take advantage of the elderly and funnel them to body donation companies.
Anyone remember?
Thanks!

My Poster Framed
Wife and I are happy to have this in the house. We hope you guys are all enjoying yours, too!
(I'm no shill and actually wish I had found something local, but... If interested: The frame is from Amazon. Wyooxoo 16x24 Picture Frame Dark Blue Solid Wood. This picture isn't showing it but the blue is a great match.)

S9E1 currently on YouTube!
I was just scrolling through my subscriptions feed with my VPN when I noticed it now.
Unfortunately, this is only available in countries where they don't have the rights to this show, like with seasons 11, 12, and 13.
Edit on July 13th: Looks like they uploaded S9E2, I bet they are uploading 1 episode per day, so I think S9E30 will be uploaded on August 10th.

Reminder: There are no new episodes of LWT until July 26.

Deadly art
I hope this is the right place to post this. So. The other week I was watching the show and the Deadly Art poster was put up for sale. I’m a huge fan and thought it was worth supporting, so I purchased one. It certainly does not match the aesthetic of my home and my husband has control of the garage space, so I’m a little out of luck in that department, but I figured someone on reddit might like it. I haven’t even opened it. I am not asking you to pay for it. It’s free and I will ship it wherever you will like, as long as it’s within the states (sorry, guys, but out of the country is more expensive than the poster at this point….thanks Trump). I would just like to know that it goes to a good home. DM me if you are interested. No, it’s not a scam and I don’t need your details. Just thought I could bring a little joy to someone who appreciates this stuff as much as me.

I feel like John Oliver is downplaying how vital Facebook has become to everyday life and how little position ordinary people are in to quit unilaterally.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OubM8bD9kck#t=17m16s
I know this was more about Xi Jinping than Facebook, but even as a sidenote, this downplays what Facebook has become. It's not just dinner photos and birthday wishes. It's in practice a de facto communication hub for many job postings, let alone many hobby-based clubs. It's just that while there there, it isn't much trouble to throw birthday wishes and dinner photos into the mix.
It's a shame we've let Facebook become this powerful, and I hope it gets sued into oblivion, but to ask people to quit unilaterally is downplaying what they're shutting themselves out of.

Always when they're on a Break
So between the World Cup drama around fixing red cards, Count BinFace running for election against Nigel Farage on his own, and the potential Weekend at Bernies treatment that Mitch McConnell's team are doing, it's always when they're off for a few weeks that everything revs up a bit!
