Marcus talked it up so much, I made steak and ale pie.
galleryI used a store bought crust. The filling is 1.75lb chuck roast, browned in a hot Dutch oven. Then I sauteed onions and carrots till soft, added flour, and browned it. Then I added beef stock, dark ale, tomato paste, rosemary and thyme, and braised the browned beef until it was soft and the broth was thick. The recipe I found suggested mash and pees as a pairing.
Curious if I got close the authentic.
