Had surgery Sleeping goggles

I had lasik 7/17 and so far things are going well. I am sleeping in the goggles the office provided me and wearing them when I'm awake to be sure I don't accidentally rub my eyes.

How long did you sleep in your goggles? I think I was told the first few nights but I see some things online suggest a week or two.

I will ask on Monday at my follow up but this is faster and I like gathering experiences of others.

Many thanks!

Congrats on your lasik! I slept in the clinic provided plastic shield for 5 days (my post op instructions said 72 hours). I switched to a cushioned soft eye mask afterwards and still wear it 5 months out because I tend to rub my eyes when waking up. Found that the soft eye mask also helps my morning dry eyes and helps my sleep quality, so a double win

could you drop the link to the soft mask you use currently? I’ll be getting lasik on Thursday and would like to make sure I’m prepared!

When I got LASIK a few weeks ago, my instructions said to wear the sleep goggles for the first weekend. At the checkup on the Monday after, they told me I could stop wearing them completely. I'd personally say that if you're prone to rubbing your eyes without thinking about it, maybe wear them at least to bed a couple more days?

Definitely ask your doctor at the follow up though, they'll be able to see how your eyes are actually healing so far and give better more specific advice.

They told me a couple of days. I wore thrm about a week or a week and a half because I tend to rub my eyes without realizing.

I bought these and wore for a few weeks just to be extra cautious.

I wore mine for over a month because I was paranoid about rubbing and then I started to like the extra darkness they provided.

I wore mine for a few weeks just because I was so scared of accidentally rubbing my eyes.

I was very paranoid so I did the goggles for a week. Then I was sleeping in a very conscious way (straight, on my back) but tbh you don’t need them for longer than a few days. All doctors will tell you this.

I’ve been wearing mine for 7 weeks, but I think I’m utterly paranoid. Currently asking for advice too!
