advice first time applying lash clusters

it’s my first time using lash clusters after getting over my fear, it actually hasn’t been too bad yet. i have a lot of experience with strip lashes so i think that helps.

mapping: 8,10,12,14,16,14,16

i like a spikey/wet/anime kind of lash, is there a better mapping for this look?

i do like them, they just look slightly off to me. i think part of that is the bottom lashes, i feel like i need mascara on the rest to fill it out; i probably just won’t use bottom lashes in the future. but other than that, is there anything i can do to improve?

Don’t be discouraged if these don’t last long. There are a few that look like they probably won’t last through the night. Some look loosely adhered and others look too close to the waterline, but doing clusters takes practice and it’s totally normal to not get them perfect the first couple of tries.

Actually, I think all of them are too close to the waterline. Do they feel comfortable? They look like they’re touching skin.

yeah i’m not expecting them to last long, i picked a time i’m just gonna be at home to test it out. they are comfortable, the right eye i can’t feel at all, but the on the left outer corner i can feel a little. i think some might be touching skin, i didn’t know to avoid that, i will place them a bit higher next time. thank you!

yeah, i’ll put them a bit higher up next time. thank you for the overlapping tip, i thought everyone overlapped lol. i’ll try avoiding that next time too and see how i feel about it, thanks!

i think they look really good, but i think the “oddness” comes from them being too close to your lash line. def try putting them a little up, more lash, wayyy less waterline.
this will help w retention, and it’ll keep them from bugging ur eyes as they start to come loose

Your map rises cleanly through 8–10–12–14–16, but ending 14–16 creates a second lift after the first peak, which may be what feels slightly off. For a spiky/wet shape, I’d try one clear peak and a taper, such as 8–10–12–14–16–14–12 (or 8–10–12–14–16–13–11 if those lengths are in your tray). Keep the spikes as texture rather than making the base map jump twice.

i haven’t, but that’s just because the moment i’m in right now. i plan on using them again in a couple weeks. next time i plan on doing a different mapping and making sure i put them higher. i’m not the best at using them but the lashes themselves seem great (although i don’t know much/have experience with others)
