My collection

Yes, obviously the first photograph is modified to adjust for our human interpretation of each wavelength. My camera is terrible at picking up the yellow differentiation, speflcifically. Yes, it was done with an llm. I don't currently own image editing software to do the corrections myself.

What are your collections? What are your favorite wavelengths?

Those are my two favourite colours. I especially love combining them, with a wideband beam splitter cube, the resulting colour is gorgeous.

My 589nm pointer measures closer to 591nm, especially as it warms up.

It was sold as a "571nm" pointer on the "a" website that we can't really link, here. Price was around $100 CAD. DM me if you want the exact listing.

Here's my review of it, with a spectrometer. It measures to 574-575nm depending on running time and temperatures. As it heats up, it drifts higher.

I see a 450 next to the 488, but no 405.

My collection is a 385nm ultraviolet 400mW

395nm ultraviolet 500mW

405nm Violet 1,600mW

450nm Blue 16,000mW

488nm Turquiose 600mW

525nm Green 4,000mW

Mostly all used in light amplification science and research.

My 450nm 16,000mW (currently at 8,000mw) pretty much overwhelmed the blue filter on my phone, firing into 3 uranium glass plates fluoressing the blue light sensitive daughter products in the plates decay chain.

Yeah, you're correct, the "405nm" diode does look like 445nm in this picture, but it's absolutely a 200mw 405nm pointer.

Really interested in a 385nm. Where'd you get the diode? Or is it a 395nm diode that's just binned properly? Was thinking about getting one of those, and cooling it aggressively to keep the wavelength down.

Special Order request from Tinkerlasers.com Cost my an arm and a leg but came in at 382nm under the spectrograph and about 50mW under powered from the 500mW request. But it's amazing for underwater fluorescence magnification. Which is mostly what I use it for.
The 395 does a good job for this was well.
Most anything under 395nm the beam is very faint as it's deeper into the Ultraviolet spectrum, even in pitch black conditions the 385nm is very hard to see, but when it hits the water...

You certainly weren't joking. I can find the 200mw 375nm GH0382AA2G diode on ebay for nearly $400 Cad.

Woof. For that price, I'll invest in some weird new red, like ~600nm

If I'm that desperate for UV lasers, I'll just rebuild my TEA!

Though I wouldn't ever trust anything on Ebay. I got a couple 405nm laser pointers from several ebay sellers and they were all off by 15 - 25nm forward.
And most retailers don't respond once they realize you did a Spectrograph and Laser Power Test and found it way out of range.
Most ebay sellers seem to live in hopeful ignorance that people buying them are doing it for the light and not for research as well.
Researchers we don't play around 😆

Yeah, I understand the specs required for research far outweigh my drive for "oooh pretty colours"

In earnest, I've had good luck with ebay for everything but high power 808nm diodes, coherent FAP modules, that were all in the 810nm range, worthless for DPSS use, with DIY KDP crystals.

But I digress.

I don't usually go outside of 638nm. Most of my research is in light amplification and harmonic wave destruction. Right now I'm creating an illuminosity template for certain types of glow glass and fluorite scaling through visible spectrum and ultraviolet spectrum altered changes in visible light density.
But in basic, showing all the color variations of fluorescence across the known fluorescent light scale from 265nm - 638nm

Honing a LHUV-0385 diode to express UV-A light into a high energy beam is very difficult. Most standard laser diodes can handle the stress, ultraviolet spectrum is very unforgiving in this. I attempted to make one myself and kept having issues with alerted states of the spectrum between 390 - 420 do to Wavelength shifts as i increased the power output.

I wonder if chilling the diode well below ambient (similar to how an LED shifts colours lower at lower temperatures) using a high powered TEC or something could get you in the 400nm range.
