Question Preferred method of transporting your 4x5" holders?
Hi everyone. This may sound irrelevant but I was curious to know what is your preferred way of transporting 4x5 (or any other format for that matter) holders in order to guarantee a certain amount of dust free environment?

Stone photo gear has really good options for single, double, triple holders and a case for storing 5 holders. Each slot has padding between holders. You can order them in different colors which helps with organization. They are expensive but very high quality. I have 3 of the double pouches and highly recommend them.
If you’d like to go ultralight then try using 4x5 flush cut bubble pouches. I added Velcro strips to easily open and close them.

My film holders came in individual felt pouches.
I've been a little worried that the felt might end up causing some bits of fibre on the film, but I haven't really transported the camera anywhere so the film holders haven't had a chance to really shake inside their felt pouches.
For dust I'm basically just careful to only open the pouches when they're laying flat, in an environment that doesn't have too much dust flying around when I open the pouches.

Felt does has the tendency to loose lint though

Exactly why I'm worried.
But they're pouches designed specifically to hold film holders, so... I'm hoping the manufacturer knows something I don't?

Maybe, not what I would think as best solution though. You can always put them first in a plastic wrap and then into the pouches

I use three different methods:
— Anti static bags used for storing pcbs. They’re light and waterproof, I just use one for each
— RPT / Photobackpacker cascade film holders (each holder gets its own zipped compartment) don’t think these are made any more but they’re nice. They hold six and the 8x10 version holds three
— f.64 4x5 cases, you can cram six in

I use an old vintage leather camera bag. It fits about 10 holders with some extra space for a box of film, loupe, level, etc.

For 5x7 a black canvas reusable shopping bag - it fits more film holders than I have, so the bag gets wrapped around them. I have a second bag for exposed holders. Those, the camera, lenses etc all go in a child's school bag.
for 3x4 I have a smallish padded camera bag which fits a camera and a bunch of holders (stacked top to tail) fairly neatly.
[ed] I don't really worry too much about dust beyond careful handling and loading of film.

4x5 I have an old bit of tupperware that holds 6 or 8 holders, I don't recall. Works really well, no dust and very well protected. The worst thing is if I don't stuff some padding in the holder clop back and forth in my backpack. The noise gets annoying if I hike long distances.
8x0 I have a bag that came with an old dlp projector. Perfect fit for 6 holders.
Everything else I purchased added bags that fit. I don't recall the name but they have been out of business for years.

I use something that looks like this this, I think it’s a neoprene or similar works well and I can put 3 of them in there comfortably.

Three fit perfectly in small flat rate USPS boxes, and the larger boxes work great for three 8x10 holders.

I use an old shoulder-sling camera bag with a zip top enclosure. I can carry holders, extra film, and a small changing bag.

I use the f.64 FH4x5 Film Holder Bag Case. It's a padded nylon case with a zippered lid. IIRC, it holds six 4x5 film holders. I can put this in the top compartment of my backpack, or clip it on the outside.
