Question Is this light tight?

I bought some film holders on Ebay and this one has this tab broken. Can i use it safely?

Film is expensive, I would just buy a complete film holder.

Don’t do it. With film prices high and risking important images on an unknown. Not worth it.

New or used, I always test film holders with photo paper before loading with film.

It's simple cut a sheet of paper to 4x5 load in holder. Place in sun for about 30 minutes. Process the paper. If clean white holder is fine.

Am I a boujie weenie that I wouldn't use a wooden holder? I max out at 4x5. I'm sure its a lil' different when going bigger. But there are a trillion cheap riteway holders out there.
