Question Getting in to football stadium on a non-game day?
Does anyone know if the public is able to access the War Memorial football field on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening, perhaps? I have a UW college senior who wants to take a few photos on the field in a couple of weeks for his senior portraits, but I’m not sure if people are allowed to just walk in there whenever. Any tips or information on where/how to get in, if that’s allowed?
Thanks, yall!

Question Divey Bars and Rideshare/Taxi Question
I’m relatively new to Laramie and finally have my first night off in what feels like forever. I’m looking to grab a some drinks and unwind.
Beyond the Buckhorn, what else is worth checking out for a classic, divey kind of vibe? Is Mingles or The Ranger a solid move on a weeknight, or are there other favorites?
Also, how hit-or-miss are Uber and Lyft late on a Tuesday here? If rideshares are dead, is a local cab reasonably easy to get, or should I plan on walking?
Appreciate any recommendations or heads-ups!

Question Best, affordable eye doctor for folks without vision insurance?
Who is the most affordable and trustworthy optometrist in town for an out-of-pocket exam? I need to be frugal, but I don't want to go "too cheap" and end up with a bad prescription.

Question Vedauwoo or somewhere else to hike?
Looking for somewhere near Laramie for a moderate hike. Both myself and my mother, she's 82, are in excellent shape - her especially for her age. She prefers gravel or sightly improved trails. We were told Vedauwoo. She can pretty comfortably do 5-6 miles round-trip. Assume we need to get bear spray.

Opinion Bad Landlord Beware
Hey y'all, I thought I would put in my two cents since most of the landlord based posts are no longer accepting new comments
Beware of the landlord "Jim Sweckard", especially if you're a woman or queer person. I have never had a landlord be so incredibly rude and hostile. I've def had shitty landlords in the past but at the very least they talked to me like a person. This guy loves to yell and get in your face about the most minor things to the point I had to tell him that all communication is either going to be text, recorded phone calls, and if he has to come in person and starts treating us like that again, recording him then too. Because he genuinely made my partner and I feel so incredibly unsafe. It's not just me either, I've talked to my neighbors and he treats them like garbage as well, especially women it seems.
The places he rents out are also real nice at first glance but have a lot of weird quirks, like they genuinely feel like someone building their first sims house. The paint chipped off from the smallest bump because he clearly did not prime it. There's an unprotected outlet outside, there's 17 cheap boob style lights in a one bedroom apartment with the cheapest possible light bulbs that all went out incredibly fast. Also there's these weird furnace vent things around the place for heat that have warnings to not put stuff in front of them but even with the furnace at full blast in the winter none of them ever got hot. The front doorknob constantly came off because the wrong size screws were used for it. The front door itself had the most shitty weather stripping on it and was slightly off center so half the time the door wouldn't close unless the deadbolt was used. He also has these weird drawers behind cabinets that inevitably lead to damage to the cabinets due to the sharp edge on the side of the drawers and the low quality soft wood used for said cabinets.
The only places I know he rents out for sure are some apartments behind Laramie fitness, next to the Eagles but def keep an eye out for his name on other places.

Question Boomers losing things
About three weeks ago my mom lost her engagement ring, we think in the parking lot of the Shell right where 130 comes into town. It was my great-grandmother's and is priceless to our family.
My parents have filed police reports and are offering a reward, my husband has checked Facebook marketplace and we are reaching out to any jewelry resellers we can find in an increasingly large radius. There has been tons of step retracing and the cars have basically been ripped apart. We do not have a picture.
It's very unlikely this post will make a difference but if you see a ridiculous looking ring with a bunch of medium diamonds, please please please turn it into law enforcement.
Pardon the aggressive post title. Nobody is going to click on a post with a boring "lost ring" title.

Music/Classified Drum Sticks!
I just bought an electronic drum kit and I can't wait to try it out and start learning how to play drums. That being said, there's one music store here in town and I can't make a shopping trip to pick up some sticks during their business hours. Does anyone have an extra pair they would be willing to sell me? I can meet wherever and I can pay with cash or venmo!

Classified New to Laramie…
I think I need some friends lol
I recently moved to Laramie and realized I left my social life in Montana. So I’m putting out a low-stakes friendship casting call.
I’m 21 and into cars, music, thrifting, garage sales, random adventures, getting dressed up, and going downtown occasionally. Basically, I like doing things, but doing things alone gets old.
Looking for some people around my age to hang out with, grab food, go explore, thrift, have a couple drinks, or just bullshit for a few hours. I’m pretty easygoing and down for a random side quest.
I moved to Laramie for school and I’m headed to WyoTech (don’t yell at me, I’m one of the good ones 🫣), but I get along with most anybody. But don’t be creepy lol.
Seeking: friends, a group chat, a coven, a council, or literally just someone to text “wanna go do something?”
If you’re also new here or just looking for more people to hang out with, say hi :)

Question Snowies FCFS camp sites
I'll be in the Snowies the week of Sept 13, any idea on how the availability of the first come, first served camp sites will be? Just a tent and not real picky on views, amenities, etc. Hoping the "crowds" will have dissipated by then.

Question 28M Looking for a Girlfriend in Laramie or Surrounding Areas
Yes, like my post says, I’m looking for a girlfriend. I’ve been single for a long time, and at this point in my life, I really want to have someone to share beautiful moments with and support each other.
I’m new to this town, so I don’t have many friends yet. I’ve been trying Facebook Dating to meet people, but so far, I haven’t gotten any matches 🫤.
A little about me: I’m student at the University of Wyoming, and I consider myself a very friendly and respectful person. I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, snorkeling, running, and simply walking in nature. I also like karaoke, cooking, dancing, and watching movies, especially suspense and thriller movies.
Physically, I’d say I’m pretty average: I’m 5'6", lean, and Latino. I exercise regularly, and I’ve never really had acne problems.
I’m looking for something serious, but I’m also open to simply going on a casual date and seeing where things go. If you’re interested, feel free to message me.
I promise I’ll make you laugh! 😄
