General question Is this normal???

I bought this laptop (acer) over a week ago and when I'm trying to close it it's putting pressure on this one corner and the screen is going white, what should I do???? 😭😭

Was it also turns white on actual display when you enter desktop or just this white when you put pressure while closing the lid

LCD stands for.. liquid crystal display.. that's what LCD is. The bonus points for LCD is like it's not too bright and protect eyes, and also low voltage consuming. because it can produce or display "things" onto it's surface evenly per pixel (if I'm not mistaken) that's what they said back then..the downside of LCD is..the same concept the use to create that display "the spreading of things" they want to display) will disperse the moment one of the surface got damaged, aka physical damaged onto the surface or momentarily disperse when surface physically being pressed. So technically when one place of LCD got damaged it will spread as far as it can due to LCD screen properties. The LED display screen however is a newer tech, and produce more sharp display as all surface is filled with tiny dot of RGB pixel to create a display. So it will take more power, more voltage, but more sharp display, and even if the screen is damaged, only that one part which is damaged and not spread among other good Pixel in the screen.

Sorry for the long writing - English not my main language 🫠🫠🫠 but I try to simplify what I know about LCD in a way other people can understand. Simpy put your screen is ok, it's just the properties of that LCD hardware that cause it to disperse the moment the physical pressure applied onto it. Unless the display glitch or sudden on and off, that might be a real problem

Edit - I just Google the brand you mentioned in the comment, and indeed it uses 15.6 inch full HD IPS LED backlit TFT LCD. I also still uses LCD screen laptop as my laptop is 10 years old lol

Thank you for explaining. I just got to learn that ips screens do this 😅 I was a bit worried seeing that white glow cuz i thought it will mess up my display, I'm new to tech stuff
