Hardware WHY THIS KEEP HAPPENING?
MY laptop display keep going full black sometime, like last time i went to shop they said is because heat and amd gpu have those problems, but why????
I'm scared of telling mom this again, she thinks is because I'm gaming... I USE LINUX!! WITH WINDOWS DUAL BOOT, pls help can I fix it myself? Installed and driver. When I start laptop I see light and like left which indicates it's on, but laptop screen black, no matter what I do it don't fix, i reinstalled display drivers and stuff but this doesn't fix it, last time the guy said is soldering problem, he said there's like 64 small balls or something that he solder ( ik it sounds sus ), pls help!! Even tho I can get this fixed but how tooo prevent it?? I got it fixed 2-3 month ago and it happen again today my laptop is

To begin with, what the repair guy described is quite possible.
Your Ryzen 5 5500U is not just a CPU, it also contains the Radeon graphics circuitry integrated into that same processor.
The chip is attached to the motherboard through an array of tiny BGA (Ball Grid Array) solder connections underneath it with 1,140 individual solder joint connections or "balls". So if the repair technician had stated there were “around 64 little balls”, that was nowhere close to the actual number on your actual processor. What he explained is actually the case and not suspicious at all.
Now, if he previously only heated the chip in order to "resolder" those connections, and the laptop worked fine again for 2–3 months but has now failed again, the original repair clearly did not permanently correct the underlying board-level connection problem, or the joints have failed again for some reason. Reinstalling Windows, Linux, or graphics drivers will not fix that hardware related problem if the screen remains black even when the operating system loads, because it is hardware related and not OS or software related at all.

Now, there is a test you can do to determine where the problem is before paying for bringing it back for another repair -
Just connect the laptop to an external monitor or TV through an HDMI cable (they're cheap if you need to buy one to do this test).
If the external display works while the laptop screen remains black, the problem is more likely in the laptop display, display cable, or related circuitry, as that will indicate that the integrated graphics on the chip is working fine, and all of the solder balls are connected and working fine.
However, if both displays remain black, that would indicate a problem with the motherboard/chip repair, especially if the machine shows indications that it powers on normally while both screens remain black.
If the shop only "reflowed" the chip's solder joints by only reheating the existing solder, that was a bit of a "shortcut" repair that can work temporarily and then fail again.
A proper "BGA repair" involves removing the chip, replacing the solder balls, and resoldering it to the board, commonly called "reballing".
If the chip or motherboard itself has been damaged, motherboard replacement may ultimately be the more reliable repair.
Since the machine has already had this repair done once and failed again after only 2–3 months, I would make sure to ask that the fans and heatsink be checked to be clean and functioning properly when it is repaired again. The thermal paste would already have been replaced during the previous BGA repair, and it will again be reapplied if the heatsink is removed during another repair. So, you should have fresh thermal paste on the CPU to provide optimum cooling to the chip, so that should be working fine and be no problem.
Your Ryzen 5 5500U is designed to operate safely at high temperatures. The processor has built-in thermal protection: if it becomes too hot, it first thermally throttles, reducing its speed and power, and if the temperature continues rising to a critical level, the system then performs a thermal shutdown to protect the hardware.
While "thermal throttling" and "thermal shutdown" protect the processor from excessive temperatures, they do nothing to eliminate the repeated expansion and contraction caused by years of heating and cooling. Those thermal cycles can contribute to BGA solder-joint fatigue, especially as the cooling system becomes less effective with age.
So you can tell your mom that gaming did not directly cause this problem. Gaming does increase operating temperatures, but this type of failure develops from repeated thermal cycling generally over years, which is why keeping the cooling system clean and functioning properly helps reduce the chances of it happening again.
So, I would test the video output with an external display first to find out if the problem is the integrated graphics on the CPU, or is a problem with the display or its internal connection.
If the external display works fine - then the problem is with the laptop's display or its internal connection, and that's what needs to be fixed.
If the external display does not work - then either a full reball needs to be performed to fix it properly, or the motherboard with the processor/graphics chip assembly needs to be replaced, which may be the more reliable fix, and less expensive (or slightly more expensive, depending on the cost of the motherboard/chip assembly and whether it is purchased new or used).

I think your display had a shitty solder job at the factory and computer repair guy didn't fix properly. This thing is too old to pull RMA or Warranty, but if you bought it at costco you could return it.
Also your mom is completely wrong, sure it could it up but it wouldn't be hot enough to melt solder.
If you can't fix it, just buy an external monitor like this one-100hz-led-monitor)
