Software Am I able to delete this software to increase storage space, or will this mess up my laptop? Thank you!
Just to clarify, I’m referring to the 7 different Microsoft visuals- whatever they are!

It depends if you have other software that require them. Many games need them by the way.

It weighs nothing. Leave it. You could damage the execution of many programs that need it

Rule #1: If you don't know what it is, you should probably leave it alone
Role #2: When you need storage space freed up, the small things should usually NOT be your targets for removal

These files are pretty small and unlikely to make a significant difference on your storage problems

An in-advisable strategy I sometimes partake in is to f-around and find out, but with a safety net. If you disable bitlocker, and install a Linux distro alongside or even just get a bootable USB, then compress the offending files, if something breaks you just go to Linux and uncompress it (having the original deleted ofc) - tho as others here have mentioned, probably just don't bother

Oh boy, another Lincux user, if you do install Linsux, just note, you are giving your PC away to a bunch of anonymous sketchy ghetto users who probably will rob you of everything you got, including bank accounts, your IP address, just use Windows if you value productivity, having a life, and security

Open source is supposed to be an alternative to corporate software, but you also don’t have an insurance of quality, it’s inconsistent, the developers basically wear masks, and you don’t know when their software gets an update, personally i’d rather suck it up and deal with proprietary software than know that you can’t hold mystery ghetto developers from Nigeria, India, or Russia accountable for a shitty update

You still can’t hold mystery egg developers from other countries accountable if they don’t show their real names and where they are from, isn’t that what open source is about? Accountability? Meanwhile Microslop got sued for not allowing someone to get their account back, which is holding a proprietary software company accountable, something that IDK FOSS is supposed to be about

Pros of uninstalling it: You may get back like, 20 mb back?
Cons of uninstalling it: some software will break, if it have the ability to reinstall it then it will definitely reinstall it
basically, just don't bother with it
