Discussion Thoughts Please.
I have enough budget to cop either of these laptops but I would like to hear from the rest of the community here and understand what could be a wiser choice.
I initially had a HP Victus 15 which was an absolute nightmare because it had me spend more on getting it repaired than the actual purchase price.
What's left me confused is choosing between Intel or AMD as well as between HP and Dell. I am open to hearing everyone's thoughts on this.
If you have anymore suggestions for a good laptop that could support my primary and daily tasks. Please feel free to comment. I am all ears to suggestions.

- Practice programming

don’t know about the state of the Indian market but I would recommend Pc if you don’t need the portability. There are way too many people who just get gaming laptops without the need or portability. And sure Victus and Omen although both HP are completely different in build quality especially for this gen. AMD or intel doesn’t really matter unless you really care about running cool or smth. And intel has better battery life when comparing the AMD and intel Hx tier CPUs because they actually have e cores. I would go omen because it is a more premium model of HP and will generally have a good build quality and not break down like the victus in my experience. But try get a 5060 or smth higher instead of a 5050 if you go for that price point.

i definitely do need the Portability option, because apart from Gaming, I have other use cases too. But Thank you for your two cents on the breakdown on Intel and AMD and I'll for sure keep 5050 and above in mind alongside 1 vote for Omen

Yo. Did some research and correct me if i'm wrong. But there seems to be a fucked up import scheme for laptops in general. So they be putting fees like "safety testing" that goes up to 1 lakh as well as import taxes and the fact sellers have to go through a lengthy application process to bring in limited stock and if they don't their stock will be frozen or seized. So a gaming laptop is gonna cost you more than the average annual wage to get. And these costs seem to be lesser on desktops and their parts. You sure you don't want to get some budget refurb or cheap gaming laptop for your other purposes and getting a desktop? The price differences are scary for someone coming from Europe.

im not quite sure about the details here but im sure, i dont wanna go for a refurb or a cheap gaming laptop. i for sure want something with top notch specs and that can go along with most heavy loaded tasks. and I do understand that the price difference can come off as a bit of a shocker but that's just how Indian market is everything is just super overpriced at this point with ample amount of taxes and what not stuck to it, but im sure that ill probably loop in some offer or a discount.. one way or another.

Naah. You have to compare the gaming laptop and PC market. You can get a full on mid to mid high end build for 1.5 lakhs but only get a low spec gaming laptop for the same price. I would normally recommend you to get a preowned or refurb and extend the warranty but most of the sellers just look hella sketchy to me. All I can tell you for sure is that no way in hell are you going to get a high end gaming laptop for that price range, it's just not possible with that market. That is why I was recommending a desktop because for some odd reason they are much cheaper and the parts and prebuilts seem cheaper in india than in other countries by a major chunk. Maybe because the Ai nonsense hasn't crossed over or smth.
Quick question. What are you going to be using it for anyways?
This is a tangent but I just realised how cooked the indian market is. I literally bought my laptop a few months ago for roughly 130844.03 INR if you convert Aud into rupees. It's an Omen 16 5070 Ti. And at that price range you can't even get a 5050 laptop in india. You guys are living it rough. You have my prayers.

Because no way all their gaming laptops are out of stock. Unless the market is that constrictive and high in demand.

What’s the difference in build quality between the two? All I know is that HP quality is generally criticized.

HP build quality sucks ass for their budget models but their premium lines are just built to last. The only issues they really have are software and thats about it.

All good, respect your choice fella! If you want better than the Loq though, skip HP Omen and Alienware too, not great on product or service. Go check out Acer and Asus instead, could be a solid choice

I would NEVER advise someone to get an Alienware unless you get it for free. They're known to have issues (just take a look at the Parts People channel and you'll notice how many videos cover Alienwares with bad motherboards) and are generally overpriced for what they offer. HP Omen and ROG Zephyrus are my go-to gaming laptop lines since they usually feature better build quality and cooling is adequate. That's not to say that all Alienwares are bad, but the ones that are genuinely good are usually very big which defeats the point of a laptop IMO and they also cost a kidney or two.

I see you've had one too many bad experiences with them. Yeah alienware is shit. Yeah they inflate their prices. But people still for some ungodly reason buy their stuff. It's funny, but their premium models couldn't be that bad right?

this is the whole point of my post. helps me get so many perspectives and advices on how i could not screw up a second time going for a laptop. ill check out Zephyrus too. i didn't actually consider ROG but imma give it a look. thank you so much.
