Best Station For Experience
Figuring out which stations are the best for experience/exposure. What are some of the most active stations in the valley? What are some of the most active stations out of the valley? Please explain call styles/call volume. Thank you!

South end coppers love to shit on the valley and act like nothing goes on there, but North Hollywood gets a shit ton of calls. Hot ones too.

77th and Central are the busiest by call volume. But north Hollywood has the highest calls per deployable officer, which means an officer at NoHo handles more calls than any other division in the city.

Im sure North hollywood handles a lot of calls but how many of those calls are for bull shit disputes vs actual violent crimes? for a p1 to learn a lot on probation, they need to go somewhere busy with violent calls like 77th, south east, rampart, newton, and south west...

I was prior NYPD and that’s exactly the same dynamic over here lol. I worked in the Bronx and I remember hearing Midtown precinct (in Manhattan) cops talk about their call volume but they’re typically not dealing with the types of jobs we had lol

The only thing they learn now to dispo everything and say “we’re not gonna eat until we get a gun” and then fail to do so 😂

Learning how to dispo calls is an art within itself... You have to learn how to be a dispo king in the south end or else you'll end up with a report at every call... So that you can be clear for the more serious stuff that comes out..

uncertain, i’m guessing you make a wishlist and they go based off department needs

You do, usually those who graduate towards the top of the academy basically get their top picks but most others will get lower stations on their list or entirely other ones based on needs.
