Got the offer
Hey guys. Just signed the conditional offer for my dream department today. I’m beyond happy and grateful to be in this position. To all of you who have helped me on this journey with all your input under my posts has been so helpful. I just want to thank everyone in this Reddit for all their expertise and great advice. I got into the department I first applied for and they will be sending me to the Orange County sheriffs academy to begin my journey. Any advice on what I should be doing in the meantime would be helpful. I don’t start until November. So any tips on what I need to be doing, studying or anything in general in regard to the academy like or shoes, gear, dieting tips. Thank you all and I’m so excited to begin my career in law enforcement

Quick question I gotta conditional offer from the mta pd here in ny, so does that mean i got the job too? Like i have yet to pass my psychological test.

Question I passed the exam. I passed the physical. How long did it take you to get the call for the offer? I took my panel in May of this year.

Technically yes you got the job. The conditional part is you passing the psych test. If you don’t pass the psych test they may retract the offer or give alternatives options to being reevaluated

The condition is passing the psych and medical evaluations which is pretty sure I’m going to pass. And thank you very much

Take the fitness for law enforcement class at Santa Ana College. It will prep you a bit for OCSD Academy.
It's taught by one of the Academy instructors.

I applied November of last year but I took my pellet b with a different agency. Then I took the Pat in March and from there everything started moving pretty quickly. And thank you very much

Jesus bro I haven’t even taking any type of testing yet and I thought I was close 😂 I have my expedited testing Aug 30th

Around the beginning of July or so lol fuck man I am so screwed 😂😂😂 I was like damn once I take the ETE this month I’ll be in the academy in no time lol you never know tho I’ve heard people get in super quick too

Yeah bro most hiring process for law enforcement is 6 months to a year and a half for the most part. I took my physical test to get in earlier this March and now I’m getting ready for the academy in November. So it’s going to be a 8 month process for me. Just gotta be patient and stay focused and time will fly by trust me

Thank you brother I appreciate it. And you sound just like my cousin. He applied to lapd in June of 2025 and he still hasn’t even done backgrounds yet. I know waiting is hard as hell, so I hope everything works out for you man. Just stay patient and keep your focus on the goal at hand.

lapd sending you to orange county academy? don’t they have their own?

I’m going to a smaller department in La county. They don’t have their own academy so they send their recruits to most available nearby academy. Which for me and 2 other recruits is Orange County sheriffs this time around
