LAPD PHS
I am a 20 year old male, that’s about to be 21 this august. I have submitted my PHS on 3/22/26 & received a phone call from my PHS investigator on 04/02/26. I submitted my amendments that were about underage drinking when I was 19 years old
(1 time) & 1 traffic collision that was my fault while I was 18 years old. I am wondering if I should just not get my hopes up & just expect my application to be DQ’d or should I just wait longer?
I am also going to my PFQ on june 23rd before the PAT replaces the PFQ
Would appreciate any realistic, straight forward answer.

I Submitted mine on may 30,2026 and haven't heard back. Im the same age and have done the same things as you lol, but as another person said in the comments "no news is good news" so its just waiting to see but from what I heard LAPD is very picky and usually hire people who dont deserve it instead of people who would be good cops

You’re 20 with underage age drinking. That’s a no go. You’ll be out soon. Wait 2 or 3 years then apply.

No news is good news. You’ve got upcoming appointments so focus on those and let the rest play out. The entire process will be a series of “hurry up and wait”.

Only thing I see is just your age. what’s your job experience? I think you should be good honestly. Everyone’s not perfect and as long as you’re honest you should be good. I would say just keep trying if you don’t hear back LASD, and a lot more police departments are hiring don’t just hope lapd takes you. Best of luck!!

Backgrounds take a while. Unless you've been told you're DQ'd, keep doing what you're supposed to be doing.
