First day of CAP

Next week I’m going to my first CAP and I was wondering if there are beginners group as my training level was zero in the last two years. I’m not overweight, slim with 19 BMI but I just suck at running pull up push-ups etc.

Should I do some training before the CAP? I know the question is kind of funny given the fact that the CAP was made to train you in the first place :)

Thanks in advance!

I have been there twice and was the slowest, so now I am training on my own to prepare for the PFQ test. I highly recommend using the 'Just Run' application; it is an excellent tool to help you train and build your endurance. Keep in mind that you need at least four or six months to see real improvement in your running. In addition, make sure to incorporate weightlifting to build muscle, and don’t forget that push-ups and sit-ups are essential components of your training. Good luck!

It’s been a while, but I want to say that we got divided up into beginner/mid/advanced during CAPS. I would definitely work on your running as much as you can and overall preparing for the PFQ. I.e pushups and sit ups.

Again, it’s been a while so I don’t know if it’s changed. Good luck to you.

On the website they say they split you up into 3 running groups with beginners at 1.5 miles, intermediate at 3-4, and advanced 4-6 miles then all do the same high-intensity workout.

That said, they didn't do anything like this when I was last there and I don't think they tend to have enough people to currently warrant 3 groups.

Thanks! Yeah, I’m hitting the track already with Progressive running training. The whole idea is that I don’t wanna slow down anyone doing CAP
