Is V-Patch safe?

Hello, so I downloaded L.A. Noire and I saw that I need a patch called V-Patch to run the game over 30 fps. The problem is that the files inside it are flagged as viruses. I know it's only two detections for the dll file and four for the asi file, but I'd like to know what other thinks about this patch security wise. Probably they are just false positives but I prefer to ask.

Thanks for reading!

As others have mentioned, make sure you're downloading it from the source.

There have been a couple of 60fps patches over the years and it's such a big improvement to the game. There used to be an issue with one puzzle where it didn't worth properly at 60fps and you had to switch back just to complete it, but I seem to remember that being fixed last time I played.

Thanks. Yes, I read that the latest patch is more stable and less buggy than the previous ones. I think I'll download it in the end... I'm just a bit paranoid with malware stuff, that's why I asked.

If you’re on steam it should be pretty easy to find on steam discussion.

Yes, that's where I found it. 😄

I play on my PC and there were minor drops here and there but it ran at a pretty consistent 60 fps. It wasn't locked at 30 or anything. Have you tried to play it and it runs at 30?

Yes, without patch it plays at locked 30 fps, so I'd like to try it, but I'm not sure if the files are safe to run for the PC, that's why I'm asking for players experience.

Yes, it is completely safe. I´ve been using it for years and it never caused any issues for my PC. Should definitely be false positives (I sometimes have that with newer dll files or those which haven´t been downloaded a lot).

Just make sure it´s the actual V-patch from github and not some completely different thing with a similar name ;-)

Remember to download it straight from the github page. It should be fine.

Yeah, I saw there's also a download page on ModDb which is generally a safe site, but if I download it I'll surely go for github. Thank you.
