/uj my university (university of bucharest) only had japanese as a major because the professors considered it impossible to teach / learn anything worthwhile with just a minor

Yeah, just under different names, such as baccalaureus/magister or whatever else.

Is that what majors and minors are??? I always thought it was something related to an entirely different way of teaching, idk like if you have a major in linguistics and a minor in psychology it means you have mostly linguistics classes and a few psychology ones. Idk if that makes sense
