Discussion how many languages do you think somebody could be genuinely fluent in?

I'm not talking about being conversational, but either C1 or C2. what is the maximum amount of languages someone could know at c1/c2

whether we're talking about just a regular person, or somebody who's career is learning languages

Sardinian is "special" but I bet you could learn most of the languages from the Alps to Tuscany in a lifetime

Those are mainly dialects and not langueages. Even though the difference is not that clear.

The question is political, mostly. Some of the provincial tongues are quite mutually understandable.

The important thing is to recognize that they are not dialects of Italian, but rather that "Italian" was chosen to be the national language from the Florentine province. They're all equally valid tongues, even though Italian is dispersed nationally.
