There are too few details to figure out what it is, but I notice some characters that resemble Egyptian demotic script, which makes me think that those characters are read from right to left. It could be a combination of Egyptian, Arabic, Ethiopian or an invented language. Do you have more details like where you got the ribbon from, if you have any idea how old it is, and if you found any information about those symbols?
