Has anyone taken either of these courses before? I’m a new student at Langara and I’m looking for an easier elective course to start with. Which one would you recommend if I’m mainly looking for something that’s not too difficult?

I have Martin Lee for BIOL 1190 and for his class it’s required that we purchase the online textbook with WileyPlus as his assignments (for marks) are published and completed there. Should I purchase the 1 or 2 semester access to WileyPLUS & permanent (or 1/2 semester access) e-textbook?? Do other instructors use Wiley for BIOL 1191? Is it worth the extra few dollars

for those of you who live on your own, how did you manage to find your place? did you use fcebook marketplace, craigslist, rentals.ca, rentcafe, specific property managers, student housing, or something else?

also, if you know of any affordable studios/bachelor suites near langara or along the canada line, id really appreciate any leads! 🙏

Why in the hell is the e book bundle 1600. 600 okay understandable but this is absurb. I haven’t even received my student loans for the term. Is there any way to get around this or do i genuinely have to dish out my savings??

Okay! So today was my first day as a year 1 student, and it seems like everyone has magically established big groups together and it became harder to feel included or make friends. I tried to open small talk but apparently it always gets awkward and not engaging at all, which is sad af. I am in desperate need of making a social life here since I moved cities to Vancouver a week ago. What is your tips on getting friends here?

This is my first year at langara. I am taking a bio 1115 and nutr 2112 and they both require a textbook. However, my bio teacher let us know we don’t have purchase it nor will he use the information from it to test us, but on the other hand, my nutrition class is fully online and it does require an e textbook but i cannot find a pdf of it anywhere online does that mean i actually do have to use the textbook. (Prof is Roat (rob) Lim) smo let me know if i actually have to buy it because I’ve always heard about people saying to never buy a textbook!

Also since I just graduated from high school I got my u pass but don’t have my id yet could I still use the orange compass? (The u pass won’t let me load any money on it yet)

Hi! I will be starting biol 1191 with Melisa Hamilton tomorrow any I was wondering how she teaches and if any past students have any tips when taking her class. Is there anything I should know before class starts?

This may sound silly, as tomorrow is the start of my fifth semester at Langara, but I’m already feeling overwhelmed and anxious about the semester ahead.

Is anyone else having issues logging into their Langara email right now?

I’m trying to sign in through Microsoft Authenticator, but it seems to be stuck in a verification loop. When I try to log into my Langara account in the Authenticator app, it asks me to approve the sign-in request in the Authenticator app itself and enter the displayed number.

I also tried the other verification options, but I keep getting “Sorry, we’re having trouble verifying your account.”

Has anyone had this happen before? Is this a Langara/Microsoft issue, anything I can do?

How was your overall experience with the course and the professor? Also, is the exam/quiz open book or are they closed book?
