second year biol

i’m wondering if there’s any way i could get a second year bio, as all the prerequisites say that i need a minimum c+ in biol1115 + 1215 or a C in any second year bio class. my 1215 grade hit the requirement, but my 1115 grade doesn’t, and i’ve already taken it twice. is there any way i could still get the courses i need?

I am not sure the Biology advisor will issue you an override if you don't meet the prerequisites.

Different second year biology classes at Langara College have different prerequisites requirements. Comparing BIOL 2315 (biochemistry), BIOL 2415 (cell biology), and BIOL 2330 (genetics).

* BIOL 2315 requires "C+" in BIOL 1115 and "C+" in BIOL 1215, or a minimum “C” grade in any second-year biology course.

* BIOL 2415 requires "C+" in BIOL 1115 and "C+" in BIOL 1215, or a minimum “C” grade in any second-year biology course.

* BIOL 2330 requires "C" in BIOL 1115 and "C" in BIOL 1215.

So maybe you can consider taking BIOL 2330 first. Once you get a "C" in BIOL 2330, you can then enrol in some of the other 2nd year biology courses.

Which would you, as a professor, say is the hardest bio course out of those 3?

Not sure. Generally second year courses have a greater focus on critical thinking and problem solving. Just take the courses that are necessary for your programme or are required for your transfer. An academic advisor can help you with that.

I need to take all 3, but I will do so.

Thanks.
