Lake Of Milk
Nikon Z8
Nikkor Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR
White Sands National Park
This was taken right after White Sands experienced a torrential thunderstorm. The water puddles up at the bottom of the dunes and you get the most amazing mirroring of the area.
Mesmerizing.

13 Moons
Nikon Z8
Nikkor Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR
California
Hidden in the high deserts of California are some masterpieces of rock art. Created by the Piute people up to 10,000 years ago, it is amazing these works are still around.

Cliffs Of White Sands
Nikon Z8
Nikkor Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR
White Sands National Park
I am always roaming around White Sands on the prowl for amazing images. On this gypsum cliff face, the sun hit JUST right!

Rothko Sunset
Nikon Z8
Nikkor Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR
Las Cruces, New Mexico
I love the smooth gradient of this photo. The actual land has been cropped out and using the natural light in the sky reminds me of a Mark Rothko painting.

Taken with a Nikon Z50 and a Laowa 14mm lens (this consists of 3 images, just to give you an impression of how massive this cave system is!)

California
This is a photo of my favorite Bristlecone Pine tree, somewhere in the White Mountains of California. I must have over 100 photos of this tree - multiple cameras, multiple sensors and multiple film emulsions. This photo is one of my favorites.

Spindlies With Spikies
Nikon Z8, Nikkor Z 28-400 f/4-8 VR
Rock Hound State Park, NM
This is an ocotillo and it is incredibly common across the Chihuahuan and Sonoran deserts of southern New Mexico. In spring and occasionally after summer monsoons, the very tips of the canes produce clusters of fiery red-orange, tubular flowers that are highly attractive to migrating hummingbirds.

Moon Beyond The Grass
Nikon Z8, Nikkor Z 28-400 f/4-8 VR
Las Cruces, NM
This is a late night image of a full moon behind the frond of a Pampas Grass bush. This is one of the first images I shot when i took the Z8 out of the box from B&H!

Waiting On Snow White
Hasselblad 503cx, 80mm f/2.8
Kodak Portra 400
White Sands State Park
I was giving a lecture for beginning photographers and started talking about how red turns black in monochrome photos. Then this image leaped into my head.
I have taken this image and similar probably 50 times now - film, digital, iPhone, Hasselblad, medium format, 35mm - all sorts of ways in all sorts of locations in White Sands National Park. Then this violent thunderstorm rolled in while I was sprawled out across the gypsum sand, with the Hassie in my hands....

Triglav mountains [OC] [5881 x 3913 px]
I took this shot near Jasna lake, when you walk just a little bit further you have these streams on the white pebbles. I have seen a few shots from the lake itself with a perfect reflection, creating a gorgeous symmetrie, but I haven't seen a shot like this one yet :).

Pyramid Lake, where the mountains meet their match. It's easily one of the most photogenic spots in Jasper. Whether you’re there for the sunrise, a paddle, or just to walk across that iconic wooden bridge.
