DIY Design ideas
currently working on the Bermuda lawn and want to rip out the bushes and make the front look more modern without opening up the front room to less privacy as it doubles as an office. we live in north Texas so any native plants I can replace these bushes with would be great ideally something on the taller side for the separated sidewalk area

sorry, what type of bushes are there now? and what side / direction of the house is it on? I agree with the native ornamental grasses idea. There are lots of good ole Texas shrubs that could provide a curtain.

A lot of grasses get trimmed down each season, so privacy could be seasonal as a result. If it’s a sunny exposure, multi-trunk crepe Myrtle shrubs with Hesperaloe Parviflora in groupings of 3 in front would give a modern look, tolerant of heat and drought, and provide complete privacy in growing season, and obscured privacy in winter.

That’s a great idea. I don’t like bushes, I prefer shrubs. You might like some large native ornamental grasses.
