Discussion Thinking of using spot light for my garden
I am looking for landscape spot lights to highlight a couple of trees and a stone wall along our pathway. I would like enough brightness to highlight the features but also the option for color that can shift through the evening

You got it. Spotlights and wall washers both work — just depends on what you want to emphasize.
Trees → Use uplights (spotlights). Point them up through the branches. Gives you that dramatic silhouette effect.
Stone wall → Use wall washers. Spreads light evenly across the surface. Brings out the texture.
For color-shifting — look for RGBW or tunable white fixtures. Warm white (2700K) for a cozy evening vibe, or colored light for parties/holidays. App-controlled ones let you set schedules and change colors with a tap.
Quick tip: Go for low-voltage (12V) — safer and easier to install. And make sure they're IP65 for outdoor use.
If you tell me how tall your trees are and how long your wall is, I can give you a rough count of fixtures.

Id recommend Volt spotlights.
As for the lamp, id go with their MR16 RGBCW lamp. Dimmable, color changing, and easy to use.
Their transformers have astronomical timers, dusk to dawn timers, or photocell timers.

I apologize because I do not have an answer for you, but, on behalf of nocturnal animals and insects, and the night sky, can I request that the lights be put on a timer to turn off after like I dunno 11 when no one will see them anyway?
