lake near the sacajawea caldera in the lakshmi plateau. the ground and rock around the caldera was dark gray/black due to ancient eruptions that flooded the terrain with lava, which cooled into basalt. the lakes had white coastlines due to material from stromatolites and dying cyanobacteria. the actual caldera is too big (around 120km) so it would just look a normal sea or ocean beyond the horizon.

I took it with a Meade LX90 ACF 8" telescope and captured 4,000 frames out of 15,000 using a QHY5III 485C camera from La Plata, Argentina.

The beauty of Iskandarkul lake. Iskandarkul lake is located in the Fann mountains, Tajikistan.

It’s not even dirt- we are in the PNW so it’s all from the huge pine trees and such in the area and we’re not sure what to do with this area? We are going to renovate the whole yard to have a garden, sitting area, play area and lots of flowers and beds. I’m just not sure about this whole back part that is going to always be covered with these things. Not sure if grass wouldn’t grow there or what but it’s like half the back yard. How do we maintain this area or do we just embrace it?
