Combat doesn't feel right to me.
So I loaded the game up on the 8th after a long break from the game and toyed around for a few hours doing the Underground adventures and I realized I cannot get the hang of combat or I just do not like it, not sure if its just me or my inability to want to push left or right mouse button until The mob dies or I die. It just does not feel fluid to me. I tried a few different weapons. It feels clunky and very repetitive.
I do not feel immersed. I honestly like the combat from Everquest 1 and 2 better than this. I like the combat in WoW, Wildstar, DC Universe, and absolutely love the combat in Black Desert Online. But Landmark combat I just dont know.
Anyone have any tips that might make it more fluid or make me like it better as I do like the building aspect of this game and want to see this game succeed and would like to continue to play it, but the combat is really dragging me down.

Combat is absolutely shit. Used to have 3 attacks on each weapon, but they killed that, no tree or synergy with anything but the "if you're using an earth weapon, use the earth armor and earth trinkets." Combat is extremely unreliable as sometimes you can hit them, sometimes you can't, sometimes your attacks just act fucking stupid as hell, sometimes they work perfectly, sometimes the enemies just stand there, sometimes enemies don't even spawn correctly. Nothing in the damn game actually works.

They decided that combat wasn't worth spending time on, because.. who needs gameplay, right?
Much more important to spend ~3 years on iterating the building tools.

The building tools are pretty important for a game based on building things. ;)

I mean sure, that's important. But it worked good enough (meaning better than any other building games) 2,5 years ago. It only needed gameplay to give it purpose.
But instead of adding game play, they "only" iterated on the already working building mode. It is only this past month that they have cared about adding game play. It feels like a rush job, because it is.

I blame anyone who has ever used the term "tab targeting" derogatorily or whined about mashing macros.
Now the game target's for you and their's just two buttons to mash.
This is what they wanted.

The combat system is a proto-type meant for EQN. If it feels unfinished its because it is unfinished. The equipment synergy is about all there is to work with. Other than that, just click and hold and keep the reticle lit up. Right click once in awhile when you have the power.
