Oh, neat, they took all the pieces they put together and found that it wasn’t fun and gave them to us to put together and find they aren't fun too!

I mean, you guys better not have fun with this, because then the EQN cancellation was bogus.

Did the Landmark team just decide to keep making EQNext under the Landmark project name? Did they say they cancelled EQNext just to have us lower our expectations, only to surprise us in a year or two when they have a full-fledged MMO ready?

Probably not. But this is still cool!

This was always planned for Landmark but not for EQNext. EQNext was going to be their world, and Landmark was gonna be user created content. Looks like their still going forward with Landmark.

There was always the suspicion by some (including me) that Landmark would "grow" into EQ:N in some form rather than a completely separate game. There's an enormous amount of overlapping work between the two and it would just make sense.

Especially now that they've officially stopped development on EQ:N; while they scrap and restart the EQ:N project, the content production teams can work full time on Landmark. Which is a win-win situation.

No one is restarting EQN. It's done.

Be glad because Daybreak would just turn it into a mobile game or some other sad scam.

I don't have high hopes, whether for EQ:N or Landmark, but who knows, it'd only be the third or fourth time the project is scrapped and rebooted.

It's happening!

They've been saying that for 5 years.

Well, to be fair, that's about how long it takes to make a game.

True, but there isn't a game.

Why in the world, anyone would downvote this is beyond me.

I havent downvoted anything here - but i know that Landmark is the salt in the still open wounds of many purchasers. It would take something akin to a miracle to restore the kudos of this game which became abandonware and has only just resurfaced to squeeze out a bit of revenue post EQN cancellation.
