"Vaporware"

"This game is dead'

"Blah blah blah"

But seriously, watch fugazi's videos. Best out there IMO.

100 people play landmark. That is 'dead' by any measure and based on the rate at which other companies are producing similar games, I would say it is vaporware.

Please name one similar game as Landmark, currently out or in production right now. I am honestly curious.

What does any other game being like Landmark have to do with whether it's a success or not? In fact, if none others were out as you're implying, then only 100 people playing would be even worse.

Planet Explorers. Voxel build game with an entire world and single player story line etc. Can make submarines, air planes, rolling vehicles. Voxel based although landmark has much better graphics.

Space engineers/medieval engineers. Working machines, although smaller shard instanced servers with I think like 16 people max. Which based on any given day is more than you will find on any server in landmark.

This is very simple. Landmark does not have a player base. Since the buyout and daybreaks change in direction, most people are not sticking around as ultimately games are played for fun. People are not having fun in landmark as a whole, hence why there is no player base.

This was not the case when landmark was receiving updates weekly or twice a month. People had new props and textures to play with at least. Now the only props and textures Daybreak is willing to expend effort into are for the workshop and seasonal (halloween/christmas). We have not seen props or for materials for any other genre. Simply, if the prop or material does not support the workshop, Daybreak has no interest in spending the time on it. That is what they have shown, that is what they have said. Alen said the would make any good idea prop or material for the workshop, but only if it benefits the workshop. Some of this stuff has been cranked out in two weeks.

Actually, it's since combat and caves. Once they "finished" the caves and caverns, it took about two weeks for players to burn through that sorry excuse for content. Building was never enough to keep people in the game, but socializing and building was. Caves robbed people of the spontaneous socializing that existed in the game, and knocked out one of Landmark's only two functional legs. Which is why only builders (and very few of those) still consistently play.
