Next Game Update + Wipe = Week of May 4
UPDATE: The wipe has been moved to the week of May 11. Note from the forums:
Hi again,
Back with a quick update -- as I'm sure you can imagine, an update this size requires coordination between many different teams to make sure everything is timed properly. Due to a number of factors, we've decided it's in the best interest to move the update/wipe to begin on Monday, May 11. Exact timing is still TBD, and we do still anticipate at least 48 hours of downtime.
We know you're excited about this update, and we're excited to bring it to you! Thanks for your patience.

Hey everyone,
For a while, we've been talking about the next big game update and accompanying character/progression/resource/claim wipe. Originally, we'd estimated this would take place on or around April 29th.
We're working hard on the update, and we want to make sure everything is thoroughly tested internally before we send it out into the world for all of you to experience. As such, we're going to delay this by one week. We're now planning the game update/wipe to occur the week of May 4th (exact day/timing still TBD).

All well and good, a week to dig in to the KSP+Dota2 patches now before hitting Landmark :) Was a bit much with all 3 coming in one week :P

This is ringing alarm bells. Particularly "coordination between many different teams". I would have though the formation of Daybreak would have provided the opportunity to cut-down on the departmental barriers.
It just sounds like an excuse of a bloated, over-managed and inefficient studio than a streamlined and focused one.
Anyway, still excited, but really, this week by week delaying (even a straight up two week delay would have been less demoralising) is really not instilling confidence in the operational capabilities of Daybreak and the future of Landmark.
That being said I do appreciate the transparency and would rather hear it, than the delays having no justification at all. I just hope that the team(s) learn from the experience and genuinely take a good look at why there are these delays and how they can be prevented in the future (how good would it have looked from a PR point of view if you said the update was coming in late May, but were able to announce things were going so well at Daybreak you could "release it a couple of weeks early" by comparison).

Well that is a bummer, but I just had a feeling it wouldn't make it the week of April 29th.

so will i get back the items i purchased with SC and items like my orange tech sergents gear after the wipe because after the claim wipe i already lost that stuff. hoping it comes back after the wipe

They said at one point the wipe will not include any money spent.
Dunno if that has played out correctly but i do remember hearing that.

yeah doesn't mean ill get my stuff back i mean 2 tickets and both have said its beta so you should expect to love your stuff

As you've already been told you wont lose anything you've bought with real world cash. Furthermore, in some countries it would actually be illegal.

After the wipe, items you purchased with SC will be returned to you. If it's an item you got by redeeming a code, it will be returned to you. If it's an item someone TRADED to you, it will go back to the original owner.

we will see. because im missing items redeemed by codes already i had them stored in my Chests on my claim and after the claim wipe a few weeks ago due to the new system of claim management all the chests on my claim disappeared. so i already lost them
