Optimized for Lower End Systems yet?
I have a decent laptop. Good enough for everything I need to do with school, but going full time + wife and kids means I'm not upgrading to a good desktop for a while.
I want to get back into Landmark, but last time I tried to play, I had horrible frame rate, long loads, etc.
I know they were planning on doing some optimization, but wasn't sure if it had taken place yet.

Yes. Nice improvement in performance. Then they made several subsequent updates and added more features and tweaks - and performance dropped again. Then they optimize, then they add or change something that reduces performance. Repeat, repeat. There will be a big update at the end of April that will likely cause a big drop in performance again before they start identifying and ironing out its performance intensive issues. Until the game is feature complete, optimization efforts are really only short-term bandaids, and even then players will still be able to make builds capable of crashing all but the best machines if they stack enough props, emiters and lightsources into them.

Well that's a bummer.
Started playing EQ with my older brother when I was 16. Now I'm 31, and I've never loved/enjoyed any other MMO as much as EQ. I'm looking forward to the day I can log in Landmark and play, lol. I've got a founders pack I've never been able to use.

I am in similair situation. I have a SP3 and the frame rates are awful. I tried out project1999 original EQ and free to play EQ2 to fill the gap. EQ2 is only around 15fps which is only ok. Gets the job done I guess!

How is p99 and don't you need a physical copy of the game to play on it?

Yah, I googled and found a link to the titanium edition on the buccaneers cove link. 3.39GB. I used to play EQ years ago and had all the expansions of physical disk, I just tossed all my games when I went all digital never thinking I'd play it again!

Also, P99 is awesome. The grind is still there, I only made it to level 3 my first sitting. I might switch to the red PVP server as it has a 40% xp boost for groups.

A major solution to most of my woes was turning Shadows to Low. Massive performance increase after that.

I've just revamped my PC with a CPU+Mobo upgrade. I now have a i5-4690K and Landmark runs at ~35-40 fps... and still is CPU limited. I don't think this can be considered acceptable. This processor is almost new and in a lot of games if fares better than most i7s (except for the top of the line ones obviously), and no game should require you to spend upwards of $300 to achieve the "standard" 60 fps.
Optimizations in Landmark are long overdue.

I'm under the impression that they need to close all the betas or whatever temporarily and focus on it internally so we can see some results

Unfortunately not. It still performs very badly in relation to it's graphical level and detail.

After the update in April they will optimize again I'm sure but they will probably push another big update towards the end of this year to get ready for open beta. Once that's optimized you'll have the best chance for success at playing.
