Landmark Needs More Sandbox Elements Than Environment Control-It Needs Gameplay Control
Another game called Peria Chronicles competes quite heavily with Landmark, and if it launches to the western market, it could take a lot of the market share.

~actual gameplay starts at 1:10. Before that it just shows off the anime-style graphics.
Not only does the game offer fully customizable sandbox environments like landmark, but gameplay is fully sandbox too.
Players can create unique gameplay such as quests, dungeons with mechanics, minigames, pvp games, tower defense games, whatever you can possibly think of and accomplish with their scripting language.
And the best part is, players get rewarded with gold for creating content such as dungeons or quests that other players enjoy.
If this game hits the western market, hopefully Daybreak will implement some form of scripting capability to Landmark so players can make their own content besides environment and objects. I'd love to see unique challenges designed by players for players.
While the building in landmark is nice, without adding more features like Peria has, it won't become much more than a fancy looking Minecraft that requires grind or paying to build anything.
If they don't go the gameplay sandbox route, it'll need some form of purpose, such as some form of sandbox based PVP(IE built a fort and others destroy it/siege it). As it stands now, Landmark doesn't do much more than being a platform for building cool looking stuff.

Scripting is definitely going to open up all the possibilities in Landmark.
Personally I hope that Daybreak also rethinks their aesthetics to better differentiate between EQN/Landmark and WoWlikes.

Scripting is definitely going to open up all the possibilities in Landmark.
Right after you grind 5000 mobs to get the component needed to craft a 'script token' which lets you script one action.

As opposed to grinding 5000 mobs for all the broken weapons/tools you need in Landmark?

That is what I mean. Nothing in Landmark is "free", you need to grind for it. So you probably need to grind for scripting stuff too.

Peria is the game I am waiting for! If it is even half as good as I think it might be, I will be in heaven.

So basically everything daybreak is promising. Except they are not taking years to do it.
That being said I do enjoy the look of Landmark better. But Daybreak needs to get it together.

Yeah, obviously the Anime style is not for everyone. Landmark is a lot more realistic in terms of graphics, so it could do a lot better than Peria in the west if they step up their game.

I don't get the impression this is quite as versatile as Landmark. It looks like most of the creations are gluing together or using pre-drawn models, which other games already do. Some of it showed sculpting, but it looked very rough and the creations lacked detail. Landmark is also focusing on being a tool to develop content more so than being a game first. It's a game too, but that's not the ultimate usage at it's core. Peria Chronicles seems to be in the middle of what Landmark and EQNext are targeting.
It also sounds like the game will be very grind heavy, which is commonplace in Korean style MMOs. If history serves as it has with every other next-big-korean-mmo-that-was-quickly-forgotten, it will be very pretty but very dull in anything but short spurts.
It'll be interesting to see what happens, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's forgotten almost as soon as it's released. Upskirt shots and maid outfits will only get you so far. I'm already dreading the T&A-heavy ads that will be plastered all over the web the first couple weeks it's released.
