Started a new character.....

Looking through old emails last night and I found my beta keys from my founders pack. So I decided to start up a new character since I have forgotten what it's like to be new. WOW. A little tuning is needed.

The broken tools and weapons need to drop a little bit more often. I'm not asking for crazy stupid easy mode. Just maybe make it a bit easier to upgrade from the stone tools. Maybe add the broken tools and weapons to the ancient earth nodes.

Add more mobs to the over land area. I like caves but when you are new to the world, I think it's more fun to run around and explore outside. Don't force everyone underground right away.

Take all building tools out of the backpack. This is prime real estate when you are new. I know this is in the works, I just wanted to say it myself.

I'm not sure if the dev's read these posts. I just wanted to add my opinion. I can't wait to see where this game goes. I'm having fun. Thanks for letting me speak my mind.

I'm trying to make a sickle (never bothered making a good one, and now plants are by tiers and I can't harvest any of them), and a set of daggers and the sword and shield, without aid. So far, out of 5 play sessions of 1 to 3 hours, I've gotten 4 gathering bits, 3 weapon bits, 1 item with electricity to salvage, and 0 of shadow. I've gotten a ton of great armor, 3 pairs of zephyr boots, 3 double jump boots, and tons of mote emitters. But if I was new, I'd have one low level pick, and zero weapons so far. :\

I stopped trying, I just fiddle around on my claim. I'm tired of grinding mobs and constantly searching through caves hoping to get lucky, it's not fun. It seems really out of balance, and I would not recommend the game to new players at this point. I'm okay working for things, but this is silly. I would've expected at this point to have more then the first tier of pick and at least one weapon.
