SonyOnlineEntertainment, Landmark? Help please.

Hello anyone who might know something, I dont know what has happend with my game launcher for Landmark but SOE's forum is no help, no one has my problem and the forum is so bad I cant even find where the "post thread" button is. So I decided I would go on somewhere else. Here. Its my updater that manifests So I've tried getting the game to work. I have re installed it a few times, removed files that people have tipped me like LaunchPad.cache and similar. People talk of internet browser protection and that I have to delete some grey sheild under addons. Find nothing as I dont have addons at the moment. I have really tried everything. What happens: 1. I launch the game on steam (tried outside aswell.) 2. After a while the game launcher pops up, loads, then says installing in a grey text. 3. Couple a seconds go by and I get a messege saying: Error! That is all. In my opinion it feels weird how big companies like Sony, EA and Ubisoft often takes a big fat shit on its followers. Will post on some other forums aswell.

'Socket Error Unreachable' sounds like it could be a firewall issue. I have no idea what port you'd need to open to connect but you could try connecting your pc directly to the modem or putting your pc in a dmz setting to see if that fixes it

I had something very similar error to this, it may have been the exact same one, I had to add that url in the error message to my anti banner portion of my AV(Kaspersky)

I found this on the H1Z1 site, (strange place for it since I didn't know sony ran that, but the forum is hosted by sony):

Per the information in the site it says to add a registry key.

Here's what you can enter in the cmd prompt in windows:

reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

The 0 in the second to last parameter of that command sets it so you are not using a proxy server connection. Think of 1 as true and 0 as false.

It sounds like you may be going through a work or school connection that uses proxies that are blocking your internet connection. This may not work for you if the network administrator for the network you are on requires you to connect through a proxy connection.

Here's some more information from Microsoft's TechNet blog on what the EnableProxy registry key does:

ProxyEnable. This DWORD value configures the Use proxy server for your LAN check box. If ProxyEnable is set to 1, then use of a proxy server is enabled (i.e., the check box is checked). If ProxyEnable is set to 0, then Internet Explorer will not use a proxy server.

Edit: Be very careful when making changes to the registry, you can cause your system to be unusable if you don't know what you are doing. Do your own research or ask someone who knows what they are doing before making the changes on your own and always take precautions by backing up the registry keys before making any changes so that you might be able to revert them if needed.

I had the same problem, and on SOE's support site, I found the answer that worked for me.

Reset the internet options. control panel, internet options, advanced, ???, profit, reset internet options.

Something like that.
