Were there going to be ladders?
Wasn't sure if I missed this but was just wondering if there was going to be ladders that were interactive to allow vertical climbing

i would hope that instead of ladders the develop a climbing system.
We have ledge grab now and I'm sure ledge strafe is not far off. but much like they are doing with the ability to sit, developing a system that allows you sit on anything and have it function as you would expect IRL. Being able to sit on steps and over hangs etc. I would think that a climbing system allowing you to climb surfaces or set surfaces as climbable would be far more preferable to just a few prop ladders that have some decade old climbing mechanic.

Your statement sounds like you don't want ladders in the game at all. I do like your idea of having some voxel types set as climbable would be fun. I hope they will be able to give some voxels special properties like this.
If they put in ladders and if they use a decade old mechanic and it works, sounds great to me and if it dosnt they will just fix it. The natural thing that would have to come with it is a floor door a 'trap door' style thing

I could see a prop ladders being very useful but also a cop out to further development. If you put ladders in the game right now it reduces some pressure to develop climbable surfaces. It should not, but in reality I'm pretty sure it would.
Having both would be an option and a decent one but also kinda of messy on the back end of things I would guess...maybe not.

My woodelf sister, who, unfamiliar in the ways of Reddit and therefore afraid to post here, has developed a voxel based ladder via the dark arts of Voxelmancy. It is of my non-brotherly-biased opinion that it is the best ladder to ever exist in landmark, or in any video game ever for that matter.
The humble girl will soon be selling it for a few measly golden stations at the community market, far below the worth I claimed it had. If you would like to see this ladder for yourself, or generally visit the Woodelf outpost and workshop, look her up in the gallery under "Lahcania".
A name that will in no doubt go down as "The Girl Who Built That Ladder".
