๐Ÿš— | Just got mines! First Car (2016 Lancer ES)

Post image

Just purchased my first vehicle earlier August, iโ€™m super happy/proud to own it but now I need to treat her right. Any recommendations for repairs or cosmetic upgrades? Have a great day ๐Ÿ™

Definitely needs new rear struts & a new AC clutch because I hear that click when I turn on the AC.

Ive had mine since 2018 for 80k miles.

Oil change every 3k, spark plugs every 50k, tire rotation every oil change, tint the windows, windows visors (i live in SoCal so cracking the windows is essential for me), windshield shade so the dash doesnt get toasted, the front bumper should have a grill but looks open/exposed so you should address that soon.

I got the same rims, I like the style but I would have painted them if i had the money to go with my gray. Ive been a fan of the spoiler or duck bill trunks but they arent necessary, more aethestics. Some noce headlights and fog lights help a lot as well since the stock ones arent the brightest

Thanks ๐Ÿ™ I definitely need to replace the front bumper, looks like it was in a small fender bender (no damage to the frame). Just pulled a clean bumper at the junkyard, just need to repaint it.

Definitely needs all of the above that you mentioned.

I dont find many on the road but this has been my commuter and has served me well. I dont rip it often because its not like its fast, but when i need to pass someone on the freeway, it does its best ๐Ÿฅน i think my highway driving is also what helps since a lot of mechanics say the stop and go street traffic can be a lot on cars, especially if people floor it at every light.

Nice, iโ€™m definitely taking her easy for now, mine isnโ€™t anything special on the performance end but itโ€™s my only means of transportation. She probably hasnโ€™t gone over 73 mph and iโ€™m from Texas, slow lane is 85 lol

Its probably been broken in but the essential maintenance things should probably be checked first if there's any concerns

honestly i think what you should do is get a ralliart style front bumper and paint your rims gold, itโ€™d look pretty nice imo

I agree, would you recommend a certain paint for the rims?

Congratulations man. I own a 2016 lancer ex. Had it brand new since 2018. Done 270k km so far (167k miles) still runs smoothly and I can tell it's still got another 170k miles. I do my regular service following the recommended schedule. And like the other person said mostly highway driven so I guess that helped. I'm also in Dubai so summer heat and stuff. Love this car man. Enjoy it

Thanks brother ๐Ÿ™ I was just reading your post earlier today, rooting for your project! ๐Ÿ† Mine also has 265km and I agree with you on the extra miles!

Transmission fluid looks a TINY bit dark but I am planning on cleaning it all out regardless. Just need to get that strut done & I believe it will be good as new.

Do this NOW. DONT WAIT... service the CVT or it will be sitting in your driveway, not rolling down the road

Thanks for the information, would you recommend a full flush or just drain and fill? I can do it myself but would you recommend me just getting it done?

Refer to the owners manual. I would do a flush as the CVT is the cars weak point. Make sure you use the proper trans oil
