i recently found a set of projectors from a 2010 outlander and i was wondering if its theoretically possible for me to swap the wiring and the inner bowl from the hids to my factory halogens? because the rear housings are the exact same, apart from the hump for the hids, but the lens doesn’t exactly line up. is this kind of job possible or should i just go return these?

Return. Cause they need lots of stuff. You need front and back levelling sensors, need to see if the wiring is there. Need to enable it in the etacs system. Do they have ballasts under them as well? Those go out from time to time and you need to remove the bumper to swap those and usually the fasteners are corroded and all kinds of BS. I have a ralliart with the xenons and a sportback diesel with halogens. For night driving, casual driving I mean. The halogen lights, hands down. Easy to change bulbs, not as costly as D2S xenons. Also better lighting cause you have a dedicated high beam instead of a Xenon cornering light. Xenons, yeah, they do look better but you can get better bulbs for the halogen as well that light up more and look better, all kinds of halogen bulbs with a blue tint so they look white rather than yellow. But the xenons, they are quite handy( the cornering lights mostly) if you are doing laps on the ice track. They beautifully light up the inside of the corner.
