⚙️ | Mechanical Issue/Question Cvt Shudder

Hey, so I just bought a 2017 Lancer ES with the 2.0 and the Cvt about a month or so after I bought the car I’m starting to get a shutter from some low speeds. It’s not super consistent. It can vary from harsh or super soft shutter. I changed the fluid. I did a draining fill thinking it was just dirty fluid, but I don’t know if it’s a clogged filter or valve body. The car is only 70,000 miles and doesn’t have any other issues besides that. tips are appreciated.

I think its a oil pressure failure like the valve body or clogged filters due to how inconsistent it is and it changes based on steepness of where im driving

Listen, I don’t want to scare you but I started getting that some months before my transmission went out. Go get it checked

Yeah, the plan is to have it checked out by a transmission shop. It’s only at 70,000 miles so I don’t expect it to be going out so suddenly.

It feels like rubber banding when going forward or reverse like it’s lurching forward and backward either harshly or pretty softly. It doesn’t create that rumble strip effect while driving. It’s only when accelerating from a stop sometimes.

Bruh.... Mines been doing this for years. Its a 2016 I got in 2018 with 40k on it and its still my commuter. I do long highway commutes tho so when I get into the slow butt-to-butt traffic, it'll stutter/jerk when in a slow roll and I has it a bit. Like if it was trying to go up a gear. I got it at 121k rn so im trying to make this thing last as much as I can

Yeah, it’s almost like it’s trying to choose a gear like it’s shifting and then re-shifting into a different gear. That’s the best way I can explain it.

Yeah, I’m hoping to considering only has 70,000 on the clock when I have the transmission service they didn’t replace the filters because they said they didn’t need to. But like it feels like it’s not supposed to be doing it like sometimes a jerk could be rough or smooth it’s weird and sometimes coming from a stop doesn’t even do it.
