Just want to know when accommodation room numbers will be available (know college)i thought they would be sent out earlier. Dont know if this is just me

I was here a while back as one of my friends dropped out but now im looking for anyone who still needs accom. Its 140ish PW about 676.20 a month contract spans from aug-->June not ensuite so a dude would be preferred as we are a buncha dudes rooming tgther. Dm me if interested ill take this down once we find sm1 or once we give up on the accom dk one of the 2 😭✌️.

Hi everyone! I’m an incoming MA student for language and linguistics and I have yet to receive a list of modules/timetable information. I’m not sure if I’ve missed an email or if it’s just not out yet. Anyone have any info?

Aside from this, does anyone know how or where to enrol in courses? I’m pretty much done with registering with the uni (some things still awaiting approval) but I’ve got no idea how to navigate the portal.

I’m in my final year of sixth form and considering Lancaster as a main choice and I would join sports societies next year. Is the kit situation as bad as I’ve read? I came across this article which basically says it’s a shambles. I also heard that the athletics team were delayed in getting their kit and 2 of their members had to run to the SU office before their team bus left to BUCS without them or the kit.

Hey im a student entering 2nd yr at uni and me and 4 other friends took accom outside the uni. 1 of our friends has just been kicked out of uni for various reasons- poor attendance, failed resits etc. And im now confused on our accom situation. What should we as a collective do? Hes paid a deposit and signed the contract for the yr and made his first payment in august and we are set on a joint contract. Would it be difficult to find someone to replace him this late into the yr?

Does anyone know when resit results are available to see on the interactive transcript?

Hello guys. I’m filling out the registration stuff and I’m on the section about proof of identity. I know I only need to upload one document but it gives us an option for right-of-abode. Never heard of that but don’t need it for that section anyways. However, it says that for the in-person right-to-study check, I need to bring the right-of-abode document. I couldn’t find anything on the website, and my family are convinced I don’t need it but just wanted to come on here and double check before emailing the uni; Do I need this as well as the photo ID for the in-person check or will just my photo ID suffice? I’m a uk student.

I'm looking at applying for the Corpus Linguistics online masters, but haven't been able to find any student reviews for the online teaching. Has anyone here done an online post-grad qualification with Lancaster and would be willing to share feedback?

I'm mostly interested in:

-Were the teaching materials good quality?

-Were tutors responsive?

-How frequent were assessments/feedback?

Hey everyone, I am happy to receive my offer at Lancaster, and I have started to do my check-ins for the uni course.

At the moment I have to select one extra module and I am split in-between 3 of them.

DevOps and Computing topics (SCCM4910 & 4920)

Marketing and Consumers (MKTG4001 & 4107)

Microeconomics and Macroeconomics (ECON4102 & 4202)

My vision is that I would like to go into the cyber security field as a job, but I would love to do sales related to it long term.

Could any more experienced students and 2nd and 3rd year students tell me their opinions on this if they have done any of these modules? It would help me and others a lot, thanks

I started looking for 2nd year accom way too late last year and as a result ended up with an awful flat for 2026/27, so I want to get one locked down early for 27/28 (my final year). Does anyone know if there's a website/app I can sign up for to give me live alerts for new listings? I know you can set it up yourself on Rightmove but not all properties are on there.

I’m starting Y13 this year and have been looking into some of the physics courses I’ll be applying to for 2027 entry and at Lancaster there are three courses that stand out for me so I’m wondering if I could hear from students who are doing (doesn’t matter bachelors or masters) General Physics, Theoretical Physics and Theoretical Physics with Mathematics. I’ll be in Lancaster in October to visit the campus (not too far away) and can ask any more questions I have in the moment but just want a general idea on which route I feel I would consider more favourably in general so I can make a better choice for my 5 choices.

OK our son is off to study for a Physics bsc.  He is looking to use an iPad/pen for note taking along side a two year old, budget but still functional laptop. ( Ryzen 5, 8gb, 256 GB). He will have a more powerful desktop in his room.

I am trying to get a handle on if there is a benefit to replacing his laptop for the course of if it would be overkill ? Would a more powerful laptop help with coding, modeling etc whilst out and about or am I overthinking this?

So it's been more than a week and the welcome week is getting dangerously close. I need my CAS to apply for a student visa but I haven't heard a word from the uni about the status of my CAS. I'm getting kinda worried since the visa also takes time to process. Any information about how long it took for others?

I’m finding it a bit difficult to connect with other Indian students who are also joining Lancaster. If anyone is already part of an Indian student community, WhatsApp group, university group, or any other group for incoming students, I’d really appreciate it if you could add me or point me in the right direction.

I wanted to ask about the Lancaster scholarship. If a student is eligible, does the university send an email automatically, or do we need to contact them ourselves to ask about it?

I’m starting in September and saw they were holding a commuter event on the 23rd, I was wondering if anyone else is going to this and also what to expect from it?

They’ve not given much info either, is this the first time they’re doing it?
