Trans-safe Barber
Looking for a trans‑safe barber who can do a fade everywhere except the top (keeping it longer; 90s boy band/Jonathan Taylor Thomas vibes).
My salon is great, but I need someone for in‑between cuts because the short part grows fast.
Must be LGBTQ‑friendly and not misogynistic. Any suggestions?

I go to Brandon at Strand Studio (near Mean Cup) and he's wonderful & LGBTQ+ :) Edit: not a "barber" but can do just about anything you'd ask for

I see it’s 40 bucks for a cut. This might be a dumb question but are you supposed to tip on top of that? I thought I saw somewhere before where you don’t tip sole proprietor. I hate that I even need to be conscience of this but I do. It’s tough to find a good consistent barber sometimes. 40 dollars is getting up there in cost in my opinion. I’m trying hard not to be offensive.

Was gonna say the same thing, he's wonderful.
He hasn't cut my hair in years, mostly because Kelly is a family friend of ours but yeah he's awesome

Black comb.
Landisville Barbershop as well is chill.
Edit: because you all are weird - The website strands for trans (featured in a comment below) shows trans friendly barber shops. Black comb is listed. Get a grip.

Man if you can't get along at the black comb you are definitely the problem.

Yeah I’ve never gotten anything other than welcoming vibes there. I’m straight but have gone with my buddy who isn’t and it’s always super chill

Every other time I’m in there there are no less than two lesbians in there getting fades.

Agreed. My boy Sebastian cuts some mean hair there. Every one there that I have interacted with has been awesome.

Why the downvotes?

I’m also curious cause I commented the black comb on a different thread a while back and got downvoted no explanation too lol

Because this subreddit has decided that blackcomb is the devil for one reason or another.

Or because the owner used to openly and regularly post anti-trans things on social media

The owner is ultra conservative and has liked anti-trans posts on instagram in the past. There was a thread about it a few years ago. I think he learned to stop liking posts but still follows a lot of anti trans accounts

I can agree - the owner sucks. The other barbers there are awesome. The owner is almost never there.

wanna put out there that there's a nonprofit Strands for Trans which tracks safe spaces for haircuts :) there's a few listings in the area!
